I'm assuming we're going to Rose... I found RT on Kayak for $547, anyone found cheaper than that?

That's about as good as I've seen out of ATL. Check the Ontario, California airport as well just to be sure... it's about 45 minutes away I believe was stated elsewhere. Holding out obviously until we see final rankings, but I'm 90% confident that's where we'll be.

Google flights has an awesome tracker tool that shows price changes. You can set alerts

It's 4 hours. And I would ideally like to avoid renting a car if at all possible, which is why I had hoped to go straight into LA.

If you do this do this do it early. The traffic on I-15 of people leaving Vegas going back to LA after New Years Eve will be intense. Leave Vegas very early New Years Day.

Is Ontario John Wayne? If not check John Wayne. Closer to Pasadena than LAX. Hilton Pasadena is a great location

Give em hell in Cali Dawg fans...

Gonna roll the dice and hold out for the CFPNCCG here in Atlanta. Hoping we make it back and I'll figure the money out from there...

John Wayne is orange county/ Santa Ana. Ontario is Ontario, it is inland but there is an expressway from there right into LA that goes right thru Pasadena.

Check Burbank, John Wayne, Ontario, and Lax, traffic sucks from any of them so I would take the cheapest flight.

Ontario is basically near the Fontana racetrack and there is a nice mall in Rancho that has normal hotels. lot of sight seeing like the Ortega hwy to Dana Point or Temecula . These areas are nice by our standards , not crazy expensive or ghetto like LA proper.

LA proper is a very high hotel market.

I’m flying out of Charlotte, but I have a direct flight to San Diego on the 30th, returning on the 2nd. It’s only a 2 1/2 hr drive. Total was $540, renting a car for $30/day. Using Marriott points for a free hotel. I’ve sunk $1,700 in travel and tickets so I’m feeling pretty good.

My thoughts exactly. Bucket list item, Rose Bowl + UGA + playoff.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in April, so she told me get this out of system and book the trip. That’s called winning.

Even though I can use some xmas money on flights to make it not as bad, I still have a hard time justifying a ~$1,200 flight to LAX.

Now I'm considering flying in and out of San Diego and taking the train up to LA (where our hotel is), it's about $20 per trip and would still eliminate the need to rent a car.

I’ve been seeing round trip airfare in the 500s range for the dates 12/30–1/2 from Atlanta to LAX. With those Internet booking sites things can change over a couple of days—one recommended just waiting. But I’m sure you wouldn’t want to wait too long.

As for hotels a couple of years ago in the summer we stayed at the Garland in North Hollywood which is about 20 miles from Pasadena. It was nice and convenient to a lot of things but you’ll have lots of places to choose from depending on what you want.

we've already got a hotel in LA booked and I have tickets, just need a flight. I guess I do have some time but I'd rather book sooner than later.
