Was thinking about this watching the end of the game and it just might be the best case scenario for us. If he comes in and looks all world then we definitely have a QB controversy among us. The fact that he’s struggled (I do think it’s tough coming in for a snap here and there) just solidifies we win or lose right now with Jake. I doubt you see him transfer based on this season alone so it buys us another year and gives him another offseason to get the reps he needs. Like Gary said the talent is undeniable he just needs time and experience, hopefully he gets a lot of both next week.

I think the playing time he had gotten is way more beneficial than a redshirt. He wasn't going be in Athens 5 years anyway, barring injury.

Some of us brought this up pre season but we’re mocked and ridiculed because Fields was obviously headed for the NFL in 3 years whether he ever played a down of college football or not.

Alabama found a frosh phenom...appparently Clemson did....they are rare for a reason....it would be very strange for another one to come along in 3 years. Fields just ain’t that, period.......there’s a reason he was committed to PennState and not an SEC School...just like that kid from Washington State......whne you want to win the SEC and a natty best to stay where HS Football is real and with kids that folks mak8ng millions a year think are all that.....
