I knew he was an idiot when he bought his mom a Bentley. There's nothing wrong with doing something for your mom, but he could have bought her an Audi or a Benz at a fraction of the price and she likely would have been just as happy. It's a perfect example of why so many young football players wind up broke. There's no telling what other stupid sh*t he wasted his money on, and it's not like he was the #1 pick making tens of millions.

This felony further cemented his stupidity. Now he's not going to be able to do squat for her.

Side note: now may be a good time to stop using these recruiting edits...

Black men comprise about 6% of the population and

In 2013, African Americans accounted for 52.2% of all murder arrests, with Whites 45.3% and Asians/Native Americans 2.5%. Of the above, 21.7% were Hispanic.[52][53]
Blacks account for the majority of gun homicide victims/arrestees in the US while Whites account for the vast majority of non-gun homicide victims/arrestees. Of the gun murder victims in the United States between 2007–2016, 57% were black, 40.6% white (including Hispanic), 1.35% Asian, 0.98% unknown race and 0.48% Native American.

Are you suggesting we go back to segregation? Would make for some pretty boring football.

Good thing he was so worried about protecting his NFL career while he was in college. Too bad he forgot about that once he actually got the NFL.

Baker’s attorney says he has affidavits from witnesses and video evidence that clear Baker of any wrongdoing and it will be presented in court.

Hopefully that's the case and it was a "wrong place-wrong time" deal..

Don't we just love the rush to judgement in this case - even from Georgia fans? It doesn't really make sense that a guy with a $5.6 million signing bonus would steal $70k worth of shite from people at a party where he knows folks and is hanging out. It does seem like he has a credible defense (if he really does have multiple people at the party who say he had no part in the robbery), but we'll have to wait and see how this one goes.

There's one thing I always think in cases like this - irrespective of Baker's guilt or innocence. Most of us who become successful in our lifetimes learn small lessons that help us slowly migrate away from toxic environments and people that put what we have at risk. We gain this understanding almost systematically as we gain wealth.

These kids who come into a lot of money need to understand that folks with something to lose have to be around other people who have a something lose. Unfortunately, if those around you have very little you won't have the support structure to give you the necessary crash course to prevent an unlikely (but still too common) catastrophe.

Hopefully Baker is innocent and this experience is a blessing in disguise.

It doesn't make sense a guy on NFL salary would murder 3 people, it doesn't make sense an NFL player would drug and rape multiple women, it doesn't make sense an NFL player cannot stop smoking weed after the 6th suspension, it doesn't make sense an NFL player would beat up strippers, his own body guards, and end up in a gun fight at a strip club, it doesnt make sense an NFL player would drive drunk and kill someone on an NFL salary.

Those are just some of the instances I can think of off the top of my head.

Nothing surprises me any more when it comes to these entitled athletes.

ETA: Not to mention, it's the attorney's job to say his client is innocent. You might need to pump the brakes yourself.

I think it depends on how many were arrested or issued warrants other than the 2 NFL guys.

If it was only those 2, I think it both are in deep shite.
