Daddy-Daughter Date Night - Downtown Athens and UGA Lady Dawgs

First wanted to wish all you guys a fantastic Thanksgiving.
Wanted to share. My daughter (6th grade) started play basketball for her Middle school team. She has fallen in love with Basketball and took her to her first Lady Dawg game at the Steg.
Had a great time, I know the knock on Womens basketball but when you have a daughter your perspective changes considerably on that stuff.
The Steg puts on a great show for basketball games, the upgrades are beautiful and my daughter loved her first game
I will note she has official turned her back on where she was born (Baton Rouge) and is full on UGA. Next year for our game she already said she plans to wear UGA gear in Baton Rouge. Not even a house divided shirt.
Oh well. I love her anyways..

Well she is growing up in Athens Georgia.
Its to be expected.
I am good with it. She is passionate about being a fan. I am becoming right there with her. UGA and Athens/Oconnee County is home. With the lone exception the rare day they play LSU. Geaux Dawgs
Believe me if it was Alabama there may be someone up for adoption.

Got to see the new steg upgrades a few months ago, and I think they did a phenomenal job. Cheers to your daughter on making good and moral decisions as it relates to her fandom.
Already planning a long weekend trip with a group of friends to Baton Rouge next year. Can't wait for that game.

Sadly it is true when i was her age thats when the horomones kicked in and started likeing girls get the shotguns ready.. beautiful daughter btw

Yeah but thankfully most boys don't know how to talk to girls until later in high school.

When my daughters reached dating age (15 in our household) we told them that anyone they wanted to date must come by the house for our approval first. Then I told them to give me 24 hours notice so I could be cleaning my guns and sharpening my knives when the boy came by.

I was born and Raised in Baton Rouge. My daughter was born in Baton Rouge.
I went to LSU but graduated from a smaller school up state. (I also live in texas for several adult years)
I now live in Watkinsville GA.
My family and I love calling this part of Georgia Home.
We all root for UGA and love being part of the UGA community and area. I only root against UGA the rare occasions they play LSU.
We attend most UGA football games, tailgate all of them.
My daughter has spurned her Louisiana heritage and is all in on being a Georgia Dawg.
I find this board to be a group of normal fans not that looney bin of nut cases on the "Rant"
Yall were kind enough to let me join this board.
Thats pretty much it.
