Getting your arse whipped ain't ever easy....but we still got everything in front of us....if we had eliminated Auburn we would face Alabama twice most likely....even with the arse beating today I like our chances against anyone in the top 10 better than I do our chances against Alabama....

As dumb as it may sound, I'd rather lose this one and win out and still have a shot at the playoffs than be undefeated going into the SECCG, lose, and be left out because the committee doesn't want 2 SEC teams. A one loss SEC champion will make the playoffs. It's better we are humbled now... We just have to keep chopping.

I agree and some humble pie is good sometimes. Get up next week and punch Kentucky in the mouth. Then beat the Nerds!

Agree. It was a rough night all around and we really couldn’t catch a break along with a very poor showing. It happens. It sucks and is disappointing but i really don’t think this team is finished. Still lots of talent and hopefully this game will light a fire to help us finish off the year strong.

If we finish 11-1 headed into Atlanta and put up a fight en route to. New Years 6 bowl or better, it will have exceeded my expectations for the season.

My record prediction for the Rant thread was 9-3.

At worst, this team has met my expectations.

Eh. Not sure I agree. Based on what's happening across college football today and over the course of the season, I think the most accurate narrative is that Georgia is an average team with major flaws (the same ones we all kne about in the off season) that has benefitted from a historically weak schedule in the worst division of major college football.

Notre dame, our quality win, is being exposed worse than we were. The picture is clarifying. We have played one really good team this year, and that team whipped our arse. If I had to guess, I would bet that we win comfortably over the next two weeks and then get soundly beaten again in Atlanta by either Bama or Auburn.

We just aren't their yet. Our Oline isn't good enough, our secondary isn't good enough, our QB is very young, and our gameday coaching is still not good enough to win at the highest level.

Overall, my preseason prediction was 7-5 or 8-4, so my expectations have been exceeded. Today made me realize that I've been guilty of ignoring reality and buying into the hype. We just aren't there yet. I hope and believe that we are on the path to getting there, but as of this moment, we are nowhere close.

I disagree with the fact that we get soundly beaten by Alabama or Auburn in the SECCG. Today was a perfect storm for Auburn. They had nothing to lose and came out gambling on every snap. They tried trick play after trick play and played loose on defense. I think if they had only one lose and more than a puncher’s chance of making the playoffs, you would have seen a different Auburn team. One that was more conservative on both sides of the ball. If we meet them in Atlanta in a few weeks, I bet you see a completely different game.

What does this mean? exposed?

they got beat on the road by a good team...just like we did.

Does that mean they arent good now? They have beaten MSU, Stanford, USC, NC State...but bc they lost on the road to a fired up Miami team, they become "exposed"

thats such an ignorant take

There's not much more to say about this game than Auburn played great football today and Georgia didn't.

Things are never as bad as they seem or as good as they seem in CFB. I expect this will be the worst loss of the year when this is all said and done. Team is still fully healthy and in position to win the SEC and make the playoffs.

I do tend to agree that it was a perfect storm for Auburn when we played them. That isn't to take anything away from them, they just came out and played loose in front of what looked like 90k drunk college students. Meanwhile we showed up tight and allowed 5+ yards a carry and routinely lost contain which I have not seen happen much this year.

They were exposed as not quite the quality win they were looking like. Had we won against Auburn we would've slipped to #2 because the committee was adamant that the reason we were #1 was the ND win. Beating what would then have been a 3 loss Auburn team would have the same meaning as a win against SC. ND is not a great football team. Neither are we. Outside the state of Alabama, and maybe the plains of Auburn, there aren't a lot of great teams in CFB this year.....

Clemson loses at Syracuse and gets a pass.

Look there are NO truely elite teams this year (bama struggled with a team we mollywhopped)

Penn State was the media darling three weeks ago now where are they ?

Point is we get to the SEC championship and then we see what happens from there
