Comparison to the '08 Alabama team?

Anybody see any parallels? We haven't looked unbeatable, but neither did they. Just playing lights out defense and good enough offense to beat anybody we've played.
Ultimately, their run ended when they met a UF team that was simply more experienced and used to that environment and competition, which would be exactly what we would run into if we made it to Atlanta.
Seems very similar IMO. Also, they started the year ranked low and were in the top 5 by the first week of October just like we've done.

Sure, there are parallels, but personally, I'm sick of the 'Bama comparisons. I understand it.
We're Georgia - not Alabama lite.

Thats the concern there....we haven't played nay elite defenses yet.
AU will be the first elite defense we face all year. I just don't think we have the oline to win the SEC. OUR RB's are the best in the nation, but Fromm is a true frosh and our oline, imo, is still mediocre.
I just don't see us taking it all this year. In fact, I could see us dropping to AU.

I could see us losing to AU and then facing them a few weeks later. Alabama looks best right now but Auburn could get to their level of that offense continues to improve.

Both us and AU would have great difficulty moving the ball on Alabama. I think both could hang in there for awhile defensively, but running the ball in any meaningful way would be a struggle. Defense would eventually be on the field way too long.

If we play Bama, it will look a lot like the 2011 SECCG.

So, what you're saying is exceptional special teams and defense would give us the momentum to run away with the win? Even without a first down in the 1st half?
I'll take it.

We'd be up shockingly at the half only to get smoked in the second half?
We'd lose to UA by 2 touchdowns but I don't we'd be throttled like we were during the second half in '11.

Yeah we are just came off our own version of the '08 "blackout" to Tennessee with their checkered stadium. Next we dethrone the champs. But it will be a tough without Trent

Fake news.

By definition, there aren't that many "elite" defenses. You're not going to face many of them in any given year; hell, you could even go years without facing one.
