Georgia-Auburn Preview and Prediction

CFN predicting a very close win for UGA.

I foresee us giving up some big TDs through the air and in shock early on...then rallying back to lose by three.

Of course, could still be seeing through the lens of UGA's long history of shitting the bed when the pressure is really on.

If you think Auburn is better, just own it and say you think Auburn is better. This dumbass cop out of "oh well we always choke" is fricking stupid considering that the 2017 season has nothing to do with any other season. Kirby isn't richt/donnan/goff/dooley or any other human on the planet, he's kirby. And this season is the best we've had since the early 80s. If you think we lose that's fine, they're ranked 10 and we're on the road and there's a lot of reasons why we could potentially lose. But don't pin it on some made up BS of whatever has happened in the past.

That really hasn't been true vs AU in recent years.

Or any game this year

-App state is a giant killer
-Notre Dame's offense is too good, we're on the road, it's a TFr QB in his first start, at night
-MSU's QB is too good and they just killed LSU
-We've lost the last 2 in knoxville, this is a classic trap game, checkerboard/smoke greys will have the crowd jacked, butch coaching for his job
-Classic trap game, vandy on the road can give us trouble in a noon game
-Mizz is a classic trap game, they can pass on us
-UF will be coaching for mcelwain and we always suck in jax
-SC is a classic trap game after the high of beating UF

It's amazing, every fricking week our own fans try to pick and choose some excuse why THIS is the week we'll lose. It's like people can't accept the fact we're actually kinda pretty good.

I'm just happy that we're exceeding my own expectations. Win or lose, we earned a #1 ranking over a fricking Bama dynasty and maintained it for at least a couple of weeks. Legitimately never seen that in my life as a UGA fan and didn't expect it in only year 2 of Kirby.

Other than their shitty week in and week out bias can someone please explain why ESPN seems to suggest that if we played Norte Dame today the game would be any different? I mean we kicked the shite out their NFL O-line, we held them to 55 yards rushing and 7 of their points came off of one of our turnovers because you guess it, it was our second game too and on by the way we didn’t have a veteran QB.

I think if we played them again we’d beat the shite out of them. We had several big layers called back because of stupid penalty’s and to me that is still one area where we need to improve on. They also just suggested Bama should have moved up for beating LSU. Did they not see what MissSt did to LSU and in turn what happened when the west dogs came to Sanford Stadium?

Just win!

Great post

They're not used to confidence
Seems every week it's the '85 Bears we're playing. We'll beat a top 10 team this week, Notre Dame will win, and they'll get all the publicity.

Everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten that LSU's loss to Troy occurred this season. Or that MSU beat the dog shite out of them. All because they beat... the top 10 Auburn team we play this weekend?

Ain't that some shite.

Georgia is already responsible for Booch and McElwain, might as well add Gus to the list.

I had Dawgs over Vols by 24. Won by 42.

I had Dawgs over Gators by 21. Won by 35.

I had Dawgs over Cocks by 17. Won by 14 but sat on ball.

Dawgs over Auburn by 14. Tigers suck arse & choke. Go #1 Dawgs.

It would be. We'd beat them worse.

This is exactly how I’ve always figured it would go when UGA won a national championship. The fan base would spend the entire season miserably awaiting the first loss, downplaying everything good that happens along the way. Then at some point in January, we wake up and realize we’ve just spent a dream season agonizing over a failure that never happened. Such is the life of a Georgia sports fan pre-conditioned to a life of Lucy pulling the football away when we’re about to kick it.

Would like to point out - not saying Georgia will win the national championship. It’s my pre-conditioning kicking in. Just what we do.

The better team doesn't always win.

Shitting the bed is a perfectly legitimate reason to lose (aka - choking). Teams do it all the time.

Kirby's team last year did it several times: Vanderbilt and Florida are great examples.

We're a lot better this year...as our record indicates...but now we'll see if we can prove we're for real.

To be fair, we've been actually kinda pretty good before and still found a way to frick things up. It may yet take a while for people to get over that constant feeling of dread.

W_GDawg That response of yours sums things up better than anything I've Heard/Read yet. People,we are simply not used to this,we are used to being let down when things are on the line, but I do believe in this team, and this year's team is the best, most prepared, and confident team UGA has had in a LONG TIME!!!

Can you blame them? Do you know how much our fanbase has been ridiculed for losing big games and never bringing home the natty? all of our rivals have won a natty more recently then we have...Tenn, UF, AU, Bama, even Georgia fricking Tech.

Until this team proves it can win and win big, you will have the doubters and it is really just a human defense mechanism. If we go ahead and set our selves up for disappointment with justification, it makes it easier when we lose to justify it. Its human nature.

I'm just glad the players don't do this shite

But ya UGA is better the AU this year. We should win this weekend. We will see how much water that holds Saturday.

And CNS lost to to UL-Monroe and Miss State in '07. His '00 LSU team lost to UA-Birmingham. His '97 MSU team lost to Northwestern. Soooooooo what's your point?

As for Saturday we are going to win a close game in a very exciting fashion that will go down in Bulldog lore.

All of the talking heads on TV act as though Ga will not be able to run on Auburn. Unless they stack the line they won't stop Ga's running game. If the do stack that opens up the passing better. Per Chizk on the SEC network Aub's O line is kinda beat up.

It will be a hard fought game but the Dawgs are too strong.
