If this happens it will just make me hate the transfer portal more.

my buddy does have a friend that works in UF's compliance office so I will check and see if he got it straight from him or not, I figured OSU would be the destination for Cox

Absolutely shocked at the idea that Dan Mullen would take in a player with red flags.

I can't see a scenario where he could get a waiver, nor do I see UGA offering any sort of supporting documentation/evidence to help him obtain a waiver to go play at UF.

There's no reason at all for Kirby to support him heading to UF. However, does a dismissed player need a waiver to be eligible?

I still don't care about the portal. I will, however, take by my, "Wish him the best," statement from a couple of days ago.

Kirby doesn’t have to support it.

Not a waiver to go to a specific school... rather we could "support" a transfer's request for immediate eligibility (as I believe we did with Ford and Fields), or we could not support it...

Not sure how he could leave here last week and already have cleared NCAA hurdles to be enrolled and eligible to be practicing with the team at another SEC school this week. Obviously, I don’t know all the rules, but something here seems fishy.

Uh yeah, this is ridiculous and stupid. Also, incredibly petty of Florida to put him on their roster *eye roll*

There's no way in hell dude is suiting up this year.

It does seem weird that he would know so quick but Grantham is a pretty dang good OLB coach. Also, if he transfers now he will have to sit a year and then be eligible for the 2020 season. I'd probably do that as well instead of going to play for some JUCO team. He's already proven himself as an athlete but he needs some coaching and he won't get near the same level at a JUCO that he would UF.

Cox would disappear if he went JUCO; doesn’t have the discipline to police himself. Personally speaking, going to Florida and sitting a year is probably the best thing for him

Cox played a big role for the Bulldogs as a true freshman in 2018.

Not sure i am seeing how the portal affects this?

I mean, if they want to transfer they still have to sit out a year unless they get a waiver...just like before the portal, right?

Well.. prior to the portal, coaches could put stipulations on what school a player could transfer (ie. not to a team we play in the next 2 seasons, or not in our division, etc)

That ability is gone... I don't think Kirby would have even bothered blocking it if he could, but the portal rules did impact that to my understanding.

If you were on the fence on whether you should feel sorry for the kid, the answer is NO!

Ah! I forgot about that. But, even if they did block couldn't the player just sit a year then go on to that school? (Remember, I am old and you have to be patient with me and patronize me )
