Best way to get tickets?

Last year, I went to the KY game and got tickets thru a broker. I had to pay a 40% mark-up and ended up paying about 125 bucks each for 2 tickets in the 300 level.
Any way I can go about this without getting raked over the coals by a broker this year when I go to the Tennessee game?

Any non-premier game you're best just walking around the bridge before game and buy from a normal looking (ie, not a scalper that looks like he lives in bethel homes) guy. You'll find plenty at reasonable prices.
For bigger games like UT I'm not really sure which direction to point you in.

I usually wait until WG gets me a pair

Any way to buy them directly from UGA if you're not a season ticket holder, alum, or current student besides driving up there and getting them?

Is Tennessee a premier game anymore?

only if the visiting school returns some of their allotment. That's why for the cupcake games, vandy, and occasionally kentucky and tech you'll see UGA offer single seats to the public for those games. For a game like UT there's no way they'll return any so unless you are a ticket holder your only other option is the secondary market.

StubHub or scalp is your best bet

125.00 isn't really that bad.
After donation and ticket price, most tickets will cost the season ticket holder about 106.00 depending on location.

After last season it’ll be tough but there’s always ( nearly) tickets to be had on game day. I’d bet this year though there will be some fakes.
$125 for UK seems high to me. They cost the original owner about $100 (depending on location) so from any sort of broker $125 seems about right. Try craigslist and look for individuals even on game day. Go early and stay on Craigslist. Lots of people can’t make the game and their friends will put the tickets on Craigslist upon arrival in Athens. Worst case scenario you wind up watching the game on TV at someone’s tailgate....most folks take the more the merrier route at the tailgate during the game......and with inverter generators and portable satellite dishes it is almost as good as being in the stands.....most folks will insist you eat and drink also....at that point in the day you probably remind them of someone anyway!

nohiddenfees.com
RIGHT NOW tickets to UGA vs Tenn START at $184 ea in the nosebleed 600's
this ticket price is not likely to go down much, if any at all
in fact, if Tenn has a decent year to start (which is a strong possibility); prices will go up
LINK - click to see prices
I like this site better than the rest because:
a) prices are typically a little lower than on other sites by 5 - 10%
b) the price you see is THE PRICE with all fees included
good luck

nohiddenfees is better - ALWAYS cheaper than stubhub (or I have never seen them not be a better price)
not familiar with scalp

I have used stubhub in the past with zero hassle, i see no reason to stray. I would recommend stubhub. You might pay a little more but if a few bucks is a big deal then maybe attending football games isn’t in the cards right now. I’ve been there too, no judgement.

when I buy from a scalper, I'll ask him to walk with me to the entrance gate to get the tickets scanned first for authenticity

Stubhub is nice because you’re assured the tickets are legit and you can wait out the prices closer to kickoff and have them immediately available on your phone. Price is always going to be higher than an in person scalper but the risk isn’t there.

The same to keys are available on every website with the same sellers.
Nohiddenfees just shows the final price with fees included
Same.protections as stubhub
I like seeing the price before I pull the trigger
