My bama buddy says that it's good to get beat down like that

or elephants as it were

Since the tide fans are butt hurt right now and you can't post on the Rant, I'll leave this here

This is like throwing stones in glass houses except the glass has already been shattered and you’re just eating glue

The Bama wave peaked last January with the Tua coming off bench to win the national championship. It’s all down hill for them now.

It won’t be a dramatic fall, but the slow decline has begun.

Hallelujah.

We said they were in decline to start the 15 season and they weren’t. It’s up and down. A down year for bama is losing the natty. Up is winning one without even playing in the seccg.

Tua has lost his powers. Think of all the lucky freak show passes he made all year that everyone described as “natural touch”.

Well, turns out that natural touch can come and go. And when it goes, it’s ugly.

Tua full on sucked for most of last night. He’s human. And it’s a hilarious bookend to the season that after sitting out every 4th quarter this year to stay healthy....that he sat out most of last nights 4th quarter too. But for a different reason...

Benched for sucking!

Ha ha ha ha ha. frick Bama. Ha ha!

anyone is crazy if you don't think bama isn't winning the west and mkaing it to atlanta again next year, which they will with ease.

Last night saw not only clemson play out of their gourds, but it's the first time since the shula era that bama seemingly did everything wrong. It was eerie to be honest. Things that I've seen plague UGA football for years were happening to bama that I haven't seen them do in 11 years, and damn sure not in one game. Freak injuries, blown coverages, multiple dropped balls, multiple short yardage failures, retarded playcalling, being outmatched phsyically, being pick-6ed, even officiating, etc. The football gods were apparently pretty angry and took it all out on bama at once.

But make no mistake they will be right back in it next season.

IMO I think everyone hyped up Tua and his abilities. I told a Clemson friend last night before the game that I thought UGA exposed Tua during the SECCG.

So Saban pulled him from the game during the 4th Qtr last night? Did he put in Hurts?

I don't necessarily agree wiht that, he looked unhuman the entire season. His accuracy was just absurd and he basically looked like a video game character. I do agree that we were one of the first teams to actually make him look human but getting steady pressure on him which he doesn't seem to respond to well, and clemson did as well.

What was so baffling to me was his decision making and accuracy. He was missing reads, not seeing wide open guys, throwing ducks into coverage, throwing way over and behind receivers, etc. Pressure in his face or not we've never seen him play like that in his career. It was odd.

I was wrong about Clemson, they have a legit program with playmakers and good looking athletes.

On paper we recruit better than them yet they just took bama to the shed. They're coached better, they utilize their playmakers and they have a legit D-Line. They're better than us.

Venables did an incredible job changing up coverages all night. Couple that with a stud DL and, as you said, just an off night for Tua and you get last night's rout.

I am just surprised that Bama ran the ball so well and couldn't find a way to take advantage. We will remember this game as the Clemson D just crushing alabama but they were running for over 5 yards a carry mid 3rd and had 150 yds. There were some 3rd and mediums and shorts where Bama was in 4 down territory that I thought should have been a 3rd down draws to keep the defense honest or set up a closer 4th down try. They just relied entirely on Tua which usually works.

exactly, their DL is ultra-elite which you need against bama and their playcalling isn't horrendous like ours is.

Their offensive play calling was stellar and very aggressive but the biggest thing also was the execution. Their WRs were catching EVERYTHING. Not just that stud freshman #8. Their OL held up all night in pass pro but they struggled to run the ball until the very end when Bama was gassed.

I think one of the big differences in our performances wasn't just play calling but execution. While #8 makes an insane grab on 3rd down we'd see Riley Ridley drop the ball. When Lawrence heaves a 80 yd TD we see Fromm over throw Mecole. When it's 3rd and 2 and Lawrence hit's #6 streaking across the field we have Swift look downfield before hauling it in.

I think we all see some of Fromm's deficiencies, I think he's a damn good QB but obviously not Lawrence. What actually stood out to me more was the WRs on both teams. All of these guys were making unbelievable catches and, frankly, I don't even rely on our guys to make routine catches at times. Don't get me wrong, this is one of our most talented WR corps and they made plays but they're nothing compared to what Alabama and Clemson trotted out there.

They got a taste of what we got last year. We played auburn and then Oklahoma leading up to the natty.
Bama had to play us then Oklahoma, while Clemson basically got two cupcakes leading up to the natty and then got all the calls and bounces.
Hope bama liked the taste of that shite sandwich as much as we did last year. One difference. We didn’t get blown out and our team didn’t quit.

that's absolutely true but I think playcalling is involved as well. They never let up and constantly had a mindset of moving the ball to try to score, even early in the 4th when they were up 28 they were still throwing 40 yards downfield. I doubt you will ever see clemson go 0-7 from the 1 yard line anytime soon. 2 years in a row now against bama we have physically and mentally beat them for a half, then seem content to run the ball constantly to try to drain the clock out. We've lost both games. And yes execution is a massive part no doubt but I just loved watching clemson's killer instinct in the 2nd half. They were playing like it was still midway through the 1st quarter.

It is great to see Bama eat that humble pie. A Bama grad works next office over and he says it tastes like vomit.

No I totally agree. Play calling I think goes with what I am saying now that I think of it. Run Run Pass has been our downfall it seems, especially because that pass is usually some WR screen to Mecole or swing to Swift.

When we had Bama on their heels we unleashed Fromm on them and our WRs actually were making plays. We let off the gas and I wonder 1) we do that in part because we don't trust our receiving corp as they have disappeared before or 2) the receiving corp never got the chance except in obvious downs and distances with unimaginative play calls?

I think it's a little bit of both. This is purely speculative but it seems like any time UGA starts to open it up you have Holloman, Riley, or Mecole dropping a huge pass. Then we immediately turtle and call Swift up the middle.

Thats what I told the friend last night. If Clemson D can keep the pressure on Tua, he will start getting very nervous and the mistakes will begin.

I still think he is over hyped.
