For every Asian immigrant there are 3 or 4 Middle Eastern or African immigrants who has never seen a school in their life. Same for their parents.

I understand that. But I don’t think the weight of those folks is moving the American average much. We are talking maybe less than a point either way. Take away all the immigrants you think are yanking us down and let us keep the “good” ones...we still aren’t getting close to Singapore.

I know most on here probably love him and will attack me, but look at who we elected as President. Anyone who thinks that bastard should be running anything, much less the country, needs their head examined.

As for Europe and Asia, we lag behind them in most areas, especially Europe. Yet dumbass Americans, many of whom have never left their state, running around talking about how we're #1.

Ours is skewed by testing every single person while most other countries only test their top level students.

I feel where you're coming from, but the alternative isn't exactly ideal. Neoliberals that want to bring in millions of low skilled migrants for the GDP are responsible for our declining PISA scores and other metrics.

There would be no Trump/Brexit/etc if these cosmopolitans had cared about the negative consequences of these policies.

As opposed to fricking Hillary Clinton???? I'm pretty sure she cares about America about as much as Osama bin Laden did.

Not that it matters a whole lot but the average American has an IQ of 98...that’s average as grits. Now, assume that the average American message board poster is likely 3-5 points higher than that...still not too bright. There is a lot of dumb in this country. We lag behind pretty much all of Asia and most of Europe.

The elephant in the room here is that IQ is largely a heritable trait, therefore it correlates very strongly to ethnicity.

The United States has a significantly more diverse population than European countries and east Asian countries (which is what I think you are referring to rather than "pretty much all of Asia"). If you were to isolate Americans of European decent, for example, and stack their IQ results against other European populations, the results would be similar. Similar thing with Asian Americans relative to their countries of origin, et al.

This veers into can of worms territory because IQ discussions have been deemed taboo by the PC police, but Americans are not just inherently dumber relative to the other countries by virtue of growing up here. We just have significantly different demographics.

Some folks keep the go-go gadget soap-box ready to spew-out whatever the hell they read on the internet.

It's comical, actually.

Anyway, why the hell would he go to Arky? He's been an O-Line coach and recruiter his entire life - one of the most successful in the country, and I've seen no hints that he wanted a HC job. Even if he changed his mind, why in the hell would he chose Arky as his first stop?

He'd need an experienced staff. What the hell kind of staff would he be able to hire to rebuild the Razorbacks with a first year HC over the next half-decade? I just don't see it.

Yeah. It's called a course correction. Retrace steps so we can veer right where we initially took a left that proved to be a wrong choice.

It’s true that countries with largely homogenous populations tend to do better or worse based on the traits you mentioned.

It's mostly heritable. You can do things during development to maximize IQ (breastfeeding, not consuming lead, etc.), but schooling and training does not appear to help improve your overall score.

The way Arky has been playing Derek Dooley would be a sexy hire. They gotta go low, Morris and staff are due 11-12 million and Bert will get between 8-9 million after his court fight is over.

Arkansas has Walmart money...they don't have to go low.

There are a lot of demographic arguments of the sort that could land one in a re-education camp as to why that is. Homogeneous culture vs. heterogeneous.

The Arkansas job is a major project for whomever gets the job. Arkansas has some of the finest facilities in the SEC, have a great fanbase but what they don't have is great in-state talent. Their successful coaches have always recruited Texas very well. Has Pittman ever been a HC or a coordinator at the D1 level??

I look for Arkansas to go after a proven HC.
