Any chance Herschel gives his Blessing on Zeus donning the 34?

I think it's slim but I also think the Retired number policy should be a retired Jersey policy.

Love Herschel but would love to see a 34 stalking the goal line again...

Just add a decimal point and make him 3.4.

No, if anyone’s number should stay retired it is his.

Nope.

I'd argue no RB in the SEC should be able to wear it because of Herschel and Bo.

I see it as an award for doing great things. Much like 47 is...

I wish you and Thomas would bless us all and go away. Thanks.

Personally think he should wear a different number... go be Zeus, not "the next Herschel". I do know that he was excited about the potential.

At most, I would say 34 should be (with Herschel's blessing) reserved for an outstanding RB that has performed well for 1-2 seasons already... more like an earned honor than a jersey that someone could pick. At the same time, would be totally fine leaving it retired.

I will be happy if Zeus is the next Nick Chubb.

Zeus will wear number 3. A little birdie told me. Roquan will be proud.

I'm aware... But that number has a different aura around it in Athens than it did in HS...

I guess my point was that he would not be wearing 34 to be the next Herschel. He would be wearing 34 because that was his HS number.

Point is moot though since he won't be wearing 34.

Sure... But regardless of the reason, the parallels, expectations, etc will still be there with the number 34... Not through any fault of his, but better to not invite it to begin with IMO... Agreed... Not going to matter.

No. No sense retiring a number if you are going to let anybody else wear it because they are a good prospect.

If this bears out we will be starting a nice little tradition of #3's. Gurley, Roquan, Zeus...
