I agree, but in Omaha wouldn't we run into some stout pitching ourselves? I'm not as concerned with our staff facing a solid top to bottom hitting lineup, but I'm terrified of our lineup going up against an ace pitcher.

It's certainly possible... but a game like that becomes one that hinges on a mistake here or there or just some timely hits/walks drawn... Not saying we can't lose games like that, but I would take our *healthy* pitching/defense as on par or better than most other teams top to bottom... And as Durds mentions, we've got a couple of guys that are trending the right way at the plate.

Assuming Stricklin knows how to do his job... (#KingKudzuisnotKonvinced) he will make sure they understand the right offensive approach for the matchups. If it's a true ace, just have to grind out longer ABs by any means necessary/possible...

Have a night Big John! 5 for 5 tonight, tying a school record last achieved by Keegan McGovern in 2016

And Schunk hits his 10th and 11th HRs of the year in the 7th and 8th innings.

Dawgs win it 12-2, improve to 41-14, 20-9, tying the school record for SEC wins in a season (01 and 08 being only other years).

We go for the sweep and the record tomorrow with Hancock on the mound. Dawgs should also break the school single season strikeout record tomorrow; 532 is the record and we have 531 after throwing 7 as a staff tonight.

Vandy locked up the division and the conference tonight.

Arkansas of course dropped a game and Miss St won, so they're tied up in the West but think Miss St has the tiebreaker.

If I'm following correctly, looking at likely 3 seed now if we win tomorrow... If we lose, then would depend on what Arkansas/Miss St do tomorrow.

All we have to do now is hope Miss St and Arkansas lose and we get the W

Top West seed gets 2 seed behind Vandy automatically...

That's why I'm not sure. I think we want Arky to lose again or at least Miss St to win, since I believe they have the tie breaker... But that may depend on where everyone else is likely to end up frankly... 4 seed could be more attractive than 3 depending on where the draw lines up..

Shep and Schunk both with excellent picks but can’t get the outs.

Schunk was overturned on review, Shep couldn’t eat the ball out of his glove.

And now a throw over to 3rd gets away from Schunk who appears to have thrown the runner out at home but they’re reviewing again.

1-0 Bama with potential for a second

ETA: Out! Great throw by Schunk

Maxwell singles
King bats into a fielders choice (should’ve been a single if not for an excellent defensive play by the Bama 2B)
Schunk singles
Talley with a noisy fly out
Cable with a hot shot to first to end the inning
Dawgs getting a bat on the ball in the bottom of the first but leave 1 stranded

1-0 Bama through 1
