Am I wrong in thinking it could have been an even bigger blowout?
Wasn’t that our issue last year.
I admit I may be totally wrong. I caught a total of about 3 minutes of this game but that three minutes included the early out with the bases loaded

Hitting wasn’t our issue last year, it was pitching. Now we seem to be in the complete opposite situation: great pitching with good not great hitting. Riley King and Patrick sullivan both had great days which is a good sign but we need to find a solid option at DH

Our middle relief and closer(s) sucked last year. Almost seems like following the Braves, either give up a huge lead in 1-3 or blow the huge lead 7-9. Hancock pitched a great game today and the the relief finished it out. Bats flew too.....
It’s 1 game. Was a good one, but let’s see what’s really going on a month from now

Agreed. I’ll say that I feel really at ease about who we are throwing and options if a guy has a bad day. Also, the range of this defense is fantastic. Bradley and Smith both had excellent rundowns in the outfield yesterday and the infield was really smooth on their picks and throws. All to say I think we can buy some time with arms and defense while the batting lineup develops and solidifies

Pitching and defense is definitely how you win in college baseball. Especially in Omaha with that ridiculously pitcher friendly park.

Exactly why we need to wait a min.....
Game 2 and fielding turned sloppy early and gave up early run.
High expectations from this team to be a regional, but need to develop and see how Strick coaches this team.
Go Dawgs, excited for this team
