Looks like only 6 of our current 18 ‘23 recruits (247) are from Georgia.

I noticed this while perusing 247 earlier this week. Also seems like kind of a down year for GA recruits (the state, not UGA).

I'd take a 3* south Georgia player vs a 4 star Texas, Calif or northeast guy. Kirby needs to go on another dmt retreat with Will and get his mind right.

Is that the active ingredient in hyauasca or however it is spelled?

Best players on last years team:
3 star from NC, 5 star from Miss, 4 star from Texas, 4 star from California, and the guy who sealed the deal for the NC was from Arizona.

Correct
In fact I typed dmt because I didn't know how to spell that word. Not that you spelled it right, but you get it.

This is how you go on 41 year national championship droughts

It really helps that the three stars from South Georgia play on a team with a defense that will have 8 starters drafted in the first round.

Obviously, the ability to evaluate talent is huge. Forget geography and even stars. That stuff is really for consumers.
There are some political ramifications to not taking in state guys but also not how you build a top 5 program anymore.

I think the biggest difference in recruiting (star ratings) etc is development. Richt simply didn’t develop like Kirby and his staff does. Kirby’s message is refreshing and he’s getting the most out of these kids.

From what I read, no one outworks the Dawgs in practice. It is a reason why we develop so well (5 stars are getting awards and draft spots and 3 stars are on draft boards and sometimes high up there).
It also leads to some transfers. It takes a special kid to put their body and mind to those limits without the Saturday rewards, yet.

Brock Bowers, Jermaine Burton, Kendall Milton - all 4 stars from California
Lewis Cine - 4 star from Texas
JDJ - 4* from Maryland.
I’m gonna let Kirby stick with his recruiting tactics

Has Mcgee lost his touch on the RB recruiting?
Posted on 7/29/22 at 8:05 pm to Dawg4Life
They had to get Gibbs out of the portal only for him to become their starter overnight. They’ve got PT to sell and we don’t. Of all the positions in modern college football to stress over (at a school like UGA, no less), RB ain’t it

I've never seen a team win a natty then miss on so many key recruits. It's astonishing.

We are #3 in the country with 18 commits
Haynes, Young, Downs, and Arch would all be assets to the program but none of them are going to derail what we’ve already built and will continue to build. We are cleaning up on both sides of the LOS, LB, and DB this cycle with plenty of big hitters left at DL, WR, and OLB.
Nevermind that Kirby is going to pull some type of recruting coup off heading into December. He always does.
