Just for fun, let's go back 10 years and see if any 3 star receiver turned out to be elite:

2010
Michael Bennett - the best case scenario, a reliable pass catcher but hardly a game changer

2011
Justin Scott Wesley - Thank you for the LSU game but can't remember anything else he did
Sanford Seay - Fulmer Cup DNP

2012
Blake Tibbs - Special Teams guy

2013
Reggie Davis - just ok, decent punt returner, no great moments in any game that mattered
Uriah Lemay - DNP

2014
Rico Johnson - don't remember

2015
Michael Chigbu - not a D1 player

2016
Tyler Simmons - dropped a TD against LSU last year

2017
Matt Landers - maybe this will be THE YEAR for him...finally

If you're going to take a 3 star, he better have at least one elite skill. This is why I was so excited about Corey Wren. He might've been unpolished but the kid had elite speed. We need that, so it's worth taking a chance on a three star for that.

There is no way you are not a troll from another fan base. That or you have extreme negativity issues. There are more important things in life than for you to take all your time to fight against your "own" team.

Honestly, it’s embarrassing as a UGA fan you don’t even remember the SC game.

And it’s not a finished recruiting cycle yet. He easily could end up being a 4*.

I'm not negative, I just presented some data that suggests 3 stars typically don't contribute in a huge way. That's not negativity, that's logic based on evidence.

Do I hope Meeks lights the world on fire? You bet, but based upon the data it's unlikely (though not impossible) which is why I'm slightly skeptical.

Read an article on him that said they expected exactly this. I wish I could remember where I saw it so I could post a link, but old man/bad memory.

First game stats from this year against Hoover-

8 catches, 233 yds, 3 TDs.

A buddy of mine covers him for the media down that way and says the kid is legit. Torn ACL as a sophomore and didn't trust it last year. He clearly trusts his knee now.

Isaiah McKenzie was a 3/4 star.
Tae Crowder was a 2 star WR in high school.
Javon Wims and Riley Ridley were bottom of the barrel 4 stars.

And for what it is worth, you are underselling Michael Bennett's contribution to the team. I think he is 10th all time at UGA in receptions.
He was basically a flex Tight End or HBack in our offense. But he was damn reliable with his hands and as a blocker.

I glanced at 247 composite.

Looks like some sites have had a lot of movement in rankings.
Dylan Fairchild shot up quite a bit in rankings.

I'm guessing that the reshuffling are from friday night film?

People often forget 3 star players are still in the Top 10pct of players in the country and with this kind of production against one of the best schools in the state it’s likely he’s recognized soon.

It will. 2022 Brookwood 3* WR Denylon Morrissette got offers from UGA, Bama, and others after 1 game this year. If you sign a 3* after his Sr year that'd be cause for concern (for UGA). Let's see how things shake out.

Alright, with Meeks on board who do we close with?

Mims, Foreman, Edwards, Sorey, Arnold, Green, and TID? Does anyone see a way to pry Carter away from the Clemson cult before signing day?

I loved the WR screen to Durham.
Long strider.
He'd catch the ball, take 2 steps and fall forward. And for someone as tall as him, it was an easy 5-7 yards.

I thought you fat fingered his name, but alas, you did not.

I wish we'd reload at what was our Great White Hope WR position. We had some good ones for a few seasons, but alas, I don't think Kirby looks for a white WR. Didn't we get one a few years ago?

ETA - Ladd McConkey from N Murray Co, last year. That's who I was thinking of.

ETA - Holy shite, I never confirmed it until today, but Ladd's dad was Benji McConkey, QB at Dalton HS, when I went there. He was Class of '95, a year behind me.
