let's not get too excited about TN just yet - their 2021 allotment is dominated by 12 3-star recruits, the rest are lured by the promise of easy and early playing time - plus, the state's high school football system is kind of small-time - and there's always the chance coach P can self-destruct as his history has proven over the years

Who's proclaiming Tennessee will be great? We were discussing who finishes higher in recruiting this year. Nothing more, nothing less.

What happened to Barrett Carter? At one point it seemed like UGA the leader and then it shifted. I know UGA can't expect to lock down every GA recruit but someone like him shouldn't have been a miss imo.

I think it was him or Smael and Smael looks like a Dawg. It would have been hard to get both IMO.

We definitely tried to get both.
But I’m also really tired of People saying we should have got every top 10 kid in the state of Georgia as if it’s an easy thing to do.
Clemson has a lot of appeal whether we like to admit it or not.

I’ve no idea what is up with Clemson today, but I was in school when Clemson had its run in the early 80’s. Now that was a dirty program.

Yep, and winning 2 out of the last 4 National Championships sure hasn't hurt.

Not sure the Dawgs were even the runner-up as of today.

Well that has been a thing people have complained about for a while. Was one of the major reasons for many ppl as to why they wanted Right gone.
Kirby was supposed to be better at "building the fence" around Georgia. Obviously you can't complain about our results, but also hard to deny how much more it stings when we see a Georgia guy succeed at another school. Especially at a position of need.

LB is not a position of need. We are deep at OLB and ILB with young talent.

Except he's not...he's from Chicago, and we have great depth at both LB positions with a shot at Mondon and Sorey.

You realize Kirby has a very good shot at going 5/5 with the top 5 players in the state?

I wasnt talking about whoever you are talking about. My statement was a general statement about Georgia recruiting and a response to DOT34.

I don't give one frick about a fence if he's bringing in better prospects than those in Ga.

Do you realize I wasnt complaining about Kirbys recruiting? It is literally in my original post.
I wont derail this thread any longer, but you people need to take the time in quarantine to work on reading comprehension

I don't know why any kid would want to play in the ACC at this point, other than ducking the competition and tougher road in the SEC.
As we know, the ACC is an absolute mess right now with Miami and FSU being a train wreck. Those schools aren't even close to being competitive right now, so there's still going to be a window for Clemson for many years to come.
I honestly think it's smart for Kirby to play Clemson as many seasons as we can. If we beat them, we can show recruits what program is better and effectively kill their only rationale for going to school there. I think kids see an opportunity at Clemson to play cupcakes all year long and improve their draft status. If we can beat them early in the season and effectively destroy their path to the playoffs then we eliminate any incentive a kid would want to go to Clemson.

Plenty of people get drafted out of the ACC...It also doesn't mean that don't have good coaches that can develop players either. Why not go somewhere, where you can win and honestly take less of a beating. A player only has so many hits in him for a career. Also, there a lot of other reasons to go to the ACC for campuses and education.
Also, beating Clemson a bunch still won't change it. Kids will always go to those schools. You can never understand the mind of a 17/18 year old kid and what he is really thinking about. Maybe he got a great BJ on his recruiting trip...And College Football is cyclical and Miami/FSU will be back.

The ACC as a whole is not recruiting well. But Clemson is, and it makes a lot of sense.
