I don't think he's done either. He's putting up ridiculous #'s right now.

Recruiting dead period has been extended until 1/1/21.
That's going to hurt several programs.

It is always a good thing when we are able to get kids on campus. With us hotly contested battles for some key recruits it can't help but hurt us at least a bit.

Can you give us a breakdown of how you think it might affect us?

When I first heard about it yesterday, my initial thought is a lot of kids that would normally commit in December will probably push it back to February. Do you agree or disagree?

I've mentioned that the overwhelming majority of our class will be early enrollees. Early signing day could be pushed back, but kids can still sign and enroll early.

We've had recruits visiting the past few weekends. A few more will visit in the coming weeks.

Most thought there were "battles" going on last cycle as well, when some of those guys had been silents since last July. Same scenario this year.

Not us with our QB 1 living right down the road. Looks like he needs to start throwing slumber parties every weekend

Very few can wait and have a school save them a spot.

Have to remember the unethical practice of asking a kid to grayshirt. Having a kid commit and then not sending them a LOI, which left prospects scrambling to find a full ride elsewhere at the last moment with most other schools not having room.

ESD gives a few more weeks to allow these prospects and their families more time to adjust in case a program left them hanging.

While certain coaches have claimed that there are benefits to taking a grayshirt, it's fairly well-known that the practice of doing such, is really only a "loophole" that serves of no value to a recruit or their family.

Rules over the past few years have been put in place to prevent certain programs from oversigning prospects. ESD was put into place to close one of the "loopholes" by cheaters that like to bend the rules put in place to stop oversigning.

Good information. I do not fully understand all of the ins and outs of modern recruiting, so education is always welcome.

On the other hand, I probably won't remember, but at least I've got it for the next 5-10 minutes. Old age and all.

What's the news with Deion Colzie. Are we not interested in him?

From what I've read we're not interested in Colzie but we're not done at WR. There is one more who has a spot if he wants it. We'll see what happens.

Hope Foreman and Smith had fun on their visit to the Bayou.

Heard it was a record breaking time.
