Not sure. He can fly though, so he'll get plenty of attention. Seems like a great kid and it had nothing to do with anything other than needing the spot for someone else.

Hey folks, been a while since I have gotten on here. Been a busy year with work and other matters going on. Hope everyone is doing great. Does anyone know if they are having a signing day shindig down near the Braves Stadium this year? I would like to link up and catch up with y'all.

Americus- If you still have my number give me a shout sometime. I don't have the same phone, and therefore lost all my numbers.

Hey man. It has been a while. Hope you're well. Little ways off still but will probably get together at The Battery again for ESD.

They haven't confirmed yet to my knowledge, but I would anticipate the same basic setup as the last two years.

Okay, so can you give us a hint as to who you are talking about?

Don't get too excited. It was just a shot in the dark guess given he was at our game and Americus hinted out coaches might follow up with a visit.

I have heard nothing, and I know nothing.

It's Jermaine Burton, LSU WR commit.

He's a good one, for sure. We need some depth there to avoid results like this year. We ended up having to start 3-4 freshmen, or at elast give them more playing time than we would like.

In fairness the problem was exasperated when Holloman got into trouble.

Holloman was a big hit to our WR corp. Add in Cager being made of glass and some of the other guys not having their shite together its a perfect storm of crap at that position.

Holloman accounted for so many TDs last year.

It is always a combination of things.

Our juniors at WR should be Holloman, Webb, Blount, and Landers.
We kick off Holloman. We move Webb to nickel. Landers hasn't learned the playbook and struggles with his hands. Blount appears to be heading towards a redshirt (medically related).
The other WR in that class was Crumpton (a downside to transfers is that you dont get them later when you may need them)

Just don't count anyone out even if everyone says so. Next few weeks will be fun.

I'm thinking I like UGA's recruiting prospects in the coming years. Bama is declining & LSU is focusing offense, which you can see both on the field and in their recruiting over the past few of years. Clemson is loaded, but the preeminent D in the Southeast resides in Athens, GA.

. . . which makes me wonder why we missed on Myles Murphy and seem to have trouble recruiting the elite talent on the D-Line.

Anyone heard good news in that respect?

He's sold on playing end in a 4-3 defense and he may be right that it's a better fit. I've watched several of his games and the kid from McEachern. I don't think either will have an immediate impact in college.

So it's a scheme thing. These kids all want sacks. Makes sense, although Murphy is a big body kid who's athletic but not exactly a speed rusher. Clemson & OSU both run 4-3 schemes, so I understand why they're pulling the top end D-Line talent.

Thanks for the answer. Although, that still doesn't help because now I'm wondering why we're behind on Flowe when the kid is looking at going from LA to effing South Carolina.

If I had to venture a guess he doesn't like our depth chart. It's filled with young talent at that position.
