But Zamir will be a RS freshman. Nothing would surprise me with Kirby, but that would be a tough pull unless Evans was 100% Dawg.

What his class is literally doesn't matter... He'll be gone after three or four years total... We have enough carries for 3 backs as Swift saw year 1. If he has an exceptional year in 2019, the only scenario where he's not gone after 2020 is another injury -knock on wood- or if he somehow regresses after being further removed from the injuries that already happened... Which would be quite odd.

If zamir is back to anything approaching his HS level, he is gone in three years for the first round. If he isn’t, then Evans has no reason to believe he can’t get carries over him.

Elite backs want to play with other elite backs and great OLs. All you need is 1-2 seasons of high end production and good combine measurables to be taken early as a back.

Ding ding ding.

Look at all our guys working out together this offseason, pushing themselves to get better. How would you not want to be around that?

Swift said himself that he came to UGA expecting Chubb & Sony to leave as jr’s. Just sayin...

You're not getting it dude...

Being a junior has literally nothing to do with whether Zamir can leave or not. If he has an exceptional year in 2019, we'd expect him to do the same in 2020, right?

If that happens, he will be 3 years removed from HS and will enter the draft. This isn't rocket science. I'm not trying to be rude here, but you seem to either intentionally or unintentionally being dense and missing the point.

Think he’s saying that Swift came in thinking Chubb and Sony were going to be gone his freshman year. I think Swift is probably thankful in hindsight those guys were in Athens because he is going to save his body for the pros.

Our guys are going to play behind an outstanding OL, and save their body to make more $. That’s become a much more important thing than getting 250-300 carries a season nowadays.

I thought that might be it, but I assumed that had been covered with my prior post:
"Yeah, I don't think either of those guys is thinking "year 1 I'm going to be the featured back"."

It definitely was. Just could have been the thought process.

We’ve been recruiting the OL better than anyone else in the nation, and it’s not even that close. We’re putting RBs in the league and they’re showing out with a body that isn’t worn down. There is not a place more appealing for any RB that’s priority is NFL success, and then we’re competing at a high level to boot.

I know I’m biased, but I could absolutely understand why we would get two elite RBs in the same class.

Btw, I’m not sure I’ve seen a fanbase more butthurt over the way we’re recruiting that has no real relation to us than LSU and Texas.

I know I said I’d bring Texas butthurt to this thread, but I’ll add LSU to the list too.

I get the 3 year rule "dude".

If you don't think having Zamir blow up as a freshman, Cook on campus, and a 5* in the fold wouldn't be used against us in the recruitment of Evans you are batshite crazy. Think his parents and handlers are gonna assume Zamir leaves as a RS soph?

Also, every 5* RB thinks he's going to be "the guy" day 1. Just like Swift thought he was. You're wrong there as well.

I'm not saying we don't land Evans, I sure as hell hope we do. But arguing that Zamir blowing up next year doesn't complicate Evan's recruitment is crazy.

If I am a 5* talent with NFL prospects, I want to go to a team with a great OL and a supporting RB room, where I get to share carries for a couple of years without getting beat up. If I am an average RB, I want to be a featured back to try to show out.

My concern is we have TE prospects wanting us to use the TE more, we have WR talent saying we will be passing more, and we have split carries in the backfield. It's hard to please all prospects who want to count touches.

Thankfully, Kirby and staff seem to have it all figured out!

After this season, both of these guys will have been on campus for 2 seasons. If this year they have lights out seasons, then literally both guys are looking at one more year and then hopping to the draft barring something holding them back.

I think you're crazy if you think he isn't leaving if he has a great 2019. The guy's already had 2 knee injuries. He's not going to hang out in college after being 2 years removed from them to potentially get another injury and ruin his shot at the NFL. Assuming he is fully recovered by the end of this season and back to old form or close to it, he's got elite measurables, he's obviously a hard worker, and he'll have 2 years of film prior to the 2021 draft.

We can agree to disagree. Neither Sony nor Nick thought they were going to be the guy from day 1. They knew they were coming in behind Gurley and Marshall (with the expectation that they'd be gone after their freshman years and they'd get to ball out then. That is the tandem vision they're selling right now.

I'm not saying we do, but I don't think that Zamir or Cook having an exceptional 2019 will have any significant role in the outcome.

Gilbert might be delaying his decision past the expected Sept timeframe. Clemson pushing to make him a hybrid WR which he seems to want. Guess we’ll see how it shakes out

I'd be totally fine with this... He runs a 4.7-4.8 40... he's not going to be an impact WR, no matter how good his routes are. Take DW and Theo Johnson and call it a day at the position... Just my opinion.
