quote:Yeah, it's a Quincy Carter jersey. Who just happened to be our QB from 1998-2000. And Chase was born in 1998, so assuming his Twitter pic is around 2000/2001.
Chase Brice changed his twitter profile pic. That a UGA jersey?

I think we know why. This would be a huge move by Kirby

if we could get Chase Brice and Jamie Newman I’d be one happy sumbitch

Newman, Brice, Beck, Mathis, Bennett. That’s a fully rebuilt QB room with the ability to foster competition before and throughout a season. I think that element was badly missing from Fromm’s game this year

How much eligibility does brice have?

Would he be a more suitable backup? Or do you welcome both, let the competition for 2020 play out as it does, knowing that Brice could get better for 2021?

Newman >> Brice IMHO
Not sure I would waste a spot on Brice, but if he knows anything, it's how to manage roster numbers, so IKWT.

Brice has 2 years of eligibility left, is my understanding.

Yeah. I get that. Just seems like a lost spot unless rumors are true that the 25 cap is going away (or is going to be raised substantially).

It’s very obvious based on number of grad transfers and blue shirts being taken that UGA anticipates removal or relaxation of 25 initial counter cap.
As per usual, Kirby is on top of roster management shite.

I absolutely think you take Brice now. Only way Beck improves for the future is if he has legit competition for 2021 and Mathis has a ways to go to get back into the race. Newman is here to be the guy for 2020 but you’ve got to have competition for 2021 and it can’t be from just a true freshman

I think it’s a no brainer

I think if we do also take Brice it should be a pretty clear signal that Mathis isn't in consideration for much of anything. Maybe even Bennett plans to transfer out.
I am just very weary of the liability we'd face allowing Mathis to take real hits. It just seems like an unneeded and avoidable risk.

Agree. Imagine that the first time he gets popped in the head something really bad happens...

Chase Brice the next joe burrow?

As soon as he got brain surgery I figured he’d be medically dq’d. shite, even before I never thought he’d finish here but he had a great G Day.
As for Stetson, idk what more he’d want. He came as a PWO who wasn’t expected to ever play, left, and came back to a scholarship and backup role. That’s pretty impressive. Maybe he can leave again but idk what his motivation would be considering the only teams that would probably take him wouldn’t be high caliber programs.
