I can assure you that this class won't kill UGA like the 2013 class did.

While I agree with this, there is no way for any of us to know this. The 2013 class looked very, very good on paper. it was mainly off field issues that killed that class. Of course, some of the players did not play up to expectations, but we don't know what the 2018 class will or will not do.

AGAIN, I agree that I don't THINK this class will fail, but we won't have an idea for quite awhile.

Anytime you have early commits, you should never get comfortable. Just revisit history and you'll see that many of those 12+ month commits go elsewhere.

Absolutely true! These are teenagers and they change their minds like a (dare I say it?)...a woman.

If we can get KW to flip then we can get his dad to start recruiting for us agin

If little Watson is good, then we should go after him, but there is no way I am signing a kid so his dad will recruit for us, no matter how influential he is.

Not really. It was only near the top 10 because we signed 33. Only one had top 100 guy, 50%+ of 3 stars.

Not as good as I remembered, but we had 15 4* players, and that's not bad. 3 of the top 4 rated players transferred and the 4th player never started. (Brice Ramsey) On the other hand, a player ranked at #240 was Leonard Floyd. Kimbrough, Reggie Carter, John Atkins, Reggie Davis and Quincy Mauger were also members of that class.

Granted, it did not turn out as well as we had hoped, but a large part of that was due to discipline problems and transfers.

Not really. Way too much filler at the bottom.

It's not the guys you don't get that kill you. It's the guys you do get that don't ever contribute.

And there was plenty in that class. Without looking, though, and more to your point of "way too much filler at the bottom"...I would guess outside of Alabama, any time a team signs that big of a class, there is a lot of filler at the bottom. As I said....it's a guess, since I didn't look anything up. And a couple of those fillers did pretty well.

However, I agree with your overall point, that there was way too many in that class that did not contribute for whatever reason.

We’ve got to get some wins,” he said. “We’ve got to be able to compete and show everybody that we’re more than a recruiting and a hype squad. We go into every year and we’ve got the best squad, this and that, and looking really promising then we get to the season and go something like 7-5. Hopefully, that comes to a stop this season and the next season.

Nolan Smith's comments pretty much sum up with what almost all of us have been saying. If we win, we'll be fine.

In this day and age, you pretty much get 3 years to prove yourself. 2019 kids want to make sure Kirby will be around if they come to UGA, and I can understand that. Probably need at least 9 wins, 10 to be safe, to assure that class that he'll be around for a while.

I understand the sentiment...but every team in the nation could say the same thing. Clemson is winning and they are doing fine. Ohio State is winning and they are doing fine. Alabama is winning...and, well, you get the picture. The trick is winning.

We don't have to win to the extent of those other schools yet. We just need to show progress. Year 1 you don't have to be good, but showing improvement in years 2 and 3 is key to keeping up the recruiting.

Absolutely, and I feel like we should show that improvement. if we don't win 10 I will be disappointed.

4* LB JD Bertrand commits to UGA. Hopefully we see a couple of his '19 friends do the same within the next few weeks.

Heard from a friend that knows Goede's family that UGA is very high on his board. He seemed to think it would happen

Long way to go, but having the top 2 WR commits for 2019 pleases me immensely.
