I see flights now from New Orleans to Honolulu for Thanksgiving week are around $1100 round trip. Should I pull the trigger now, or will the prices be going down as the summer kicks off?

$1100?? Is that because it is during a holiday?

That seems expensive, usually remember seeing prices around $800-$1000 and as low as $500

Cuse, I know you are the flight guru around here. When is the best time that you think we should book? I had been seeing prices at $1400 round trip, but I saw them dip today, so that's why I asked.

I still get emails from Hawaiian Airlines alerting me of specials and I've seen fares around this price(but from PHX to clarify).

Luckily I spent most of today hungover so have plenty of time to help

Give me a few minutes to look up old threads and see what prices were last year for that time

Last year I paid about $850 out of Dallas. If you have flexible dates and are vigilant, you can find a flight around $600 but it's not the norm. $1100 sounds about right for N.O.

So far this year, we've had at least one sale to Honolulu out of Houston for $353 roundtrip (March 2018). The sale included thanksgiving as well. LINK

Other cheap options to honolulu was for $611 and $621 this spring

I'd say $1100 is a lot based off those threads, hold off on purchasing

Yeah arse may want to look at booking two separate flights- one to LAX, then a separate one to Honolulu. Might save on costs, but we won't know for a few months

Hawaiian Airlines is also a nice airline to fly on. At least it was back in 2011.

Do you have specific days you want to leave on or a specific number of days you're looking to stay? I think you can do better than $1,100.

Check fares from Las Vegas, LA, Oakland, San Fran. I have flown NOLA to Vegas, LA, and Oak before and then Hawaii for much cheaper than 1100.

We would be leaving Sunday, November 18 and coming back November 25. I'll try and look for flights out of Cali or Vegas and see if it's cheaper. Thanks guys.

My family (3) went to Hawaii during Thanksgiving week, we paid just under $600 a piece, flew United.

-Had a long layover in Portland
-Flew back the night of Thanksgiving. Boarded the plane just have getting a text that LSU had defeated A&M.

Went to Kauai during Thanksgiving last year. Flew out of MSY Tuesday before and returned Monday after. Paid about $900 round trip but did piece and part the flights together.

Delta there and Hawaiian from LIH to LAX then Delta from LAX to MSY back. Return leg was on two separate itineraries. Was the only way we could get home on the same day we flew out.

Flights were over $1000 twenty years ago from New Orleans to LA to Hawaii.
Used frequent flyer miles for that.
