Orchard Towers if you're single and like to party.

Just take a taxi to down 328 KATONG LAKSA and get the best around. Sure it has been on a lot of celebrity chefs stuff TV shows, and that turns some people off, but it is worth it. You will pay more on a taxi than the meal. I think with a soda it was less than 10 dollars.
Walk around Chinatown, it is great time.
As for Marina Bay Sands...it is meh to me...but worth photos from the outside.
And if you are into what JL recommends, Orchard Towers did not get the name of 4 floors of wh@res for nothing.
Also, at the airport, which is my favorite in the world, go to the canteen.

That will give you information.

Singapore is all about the food. It's the best street/hawker food in the world and has a developed culture around it. You should try to hit Little India, Little Arabia and one of the better Chinese hawker areas. Budget at least $4/meal.

Other than whore and food, if you are into botanical gardens, the garden there has multiple giant indoor habitats as well as the tree superstructures - it’s very cool. A trip to the top of MBS has some cool views.
As everyone else mentioned - great cheap food everywhere. You don’t have to overpay for food. If you like crab, they have some great whole crabs with multiple sauces that are great - chili crab and black pepper crab are the 2 most popular.

quote:Yep. Your goal should be NOT to go to a "nice" restaurant. The chili crab is the most famous local delicacy. I recommend going a mile or two out into the suburbs to get yours instead of at one of the tourist places.

For chili crab, we ate at a place called “no sign board” that was somewhat off the beaten path, but very close to the airport

Thanks all. Looks like it may be longer if Typhoon Trami screws me up. I fly into Singapore Monday morning and connect on delta our to NRT and then to ATL. Screw me if I get hung up by a typhoon.
