The announcement will also require the rescheduling of Arizona State’s 2026 game with LSU to 2030, reports College Football Talk’s Bryan Fischer.

The Texas A&M Aggies have added the UMass Minutemen and the Bowling Green Falcons to their future football schedules, FBSchedules.com has learned.

Copies of contracts for games against both opponents were obtained from Texas A&M University via a state Public Information Act request.

Texas A&M will host the UMass Minutemen at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, on November 19, 2022. The Aggies will pay the Minutemen a $1.7 million guarantee for the game, according to the copy of the contract.

The 2024 contest between Texas A&M and UMass will mark their first-ever meeting on the gridiron.

The addition of UMass gives Texas A&M three non-conference opponents for the 2022 season. The Aggies are scheduled to host Appalachian State on Sept. 10 and Miami (FL) on Sept. 17.

The Bowling Green Falcons will travel to take on the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field on September 21, 2024. Texas A&M will a $1.6 million guarantee to Bowling Green, per the contract copy.

The contest against Bowling Green will be only the second for Texas A&M in their history against a current member of the MAC. The Aggies defeated the Ball State Cardinals 56-23 in 2015.

At these prices I'd rather be scheduling Rice.

I'd rather schedule Rice, SMU, Tulane than UMass and Bowling Green.

vomit

Like frick man cant we do a 2-1 SMU series or a some shite like that for the paid wins? At least they have SWC flavor and would make the first team break a sweat.

SHSU played like assholes trying to injure our guys last time we played and the only way McNeese would have any juice if RC decided to coach his alma mater.

If we're going to add FCS schools to the schedule, then we should only give that privilege to other Texas schools. Keep Texas money in Texas.

Well with the news of Tarleton State moving up to FCS as an independent I'm going to guess we'll be kicking the shite out of them here in the near future. 2021, 2023, and 2025 on out all have room for an FCS opponent.

from 12thMan.com on Louisville series

quote:

Texas A&M University and the University of Louisville have agreed to a home-and-home football series in 2028 and 2029.

"We are excited to announce this home-and-home series with Louisville as we continue our non-conference home-and-home football matchups with some of the top programs across the country. This matchup also gives our fans a chance to see a different part of the country and continues to showcase the Texas A&M brand on a national stage," Texas A&M Director of Athletics Ross Bjork said.

The Cardinals from the Atlantic Coast Conference will come to Aggieland on Sept. 2, 2028 and the Aggies will return to Louisville on Sept. 1, 2029.

The two football programs have faced each four times on the gridiron with the Aggies holding a 3-1 advantage. Louisville won the most recent matchup in the 2015 Music City Bowl in Nashville, 27-21.

The two schools met three consecutive years from 1992-1994 with Texas A&M hosting the first two games at Kyle Field before a road trip to Louisville in 1994. The Aggies won all three games. The 1993 game at Kyle Field saw Coach R.C. Slocum and the 11th-ranked Aggies defeat Coach Howard Schnellenberger and the 20th-ranked Cardinals, 42-7.

This continues the non-conference scheduling philosophy at Texas A&M of facing top programs from across the country. The Aggies will face Colorado from the Pacific 12 Conference in 2020 and 2021, Miami (Fla.) from the ACC in 2022 and 2023 and Notre Dame for 2024 and 2025. The Aggies face another Pac-12 team in Arizona State in 2026 and 2027 before facing Louisville.

Kind of underwhelming TBH. Unless Louisville is just killing it in 10 years I seriously doubt the attendance will break 100k for them.

Bet it draws more than someone like TX state though. Wish we would schedule some weak to average power 5 teams and only have one true “cupcake” game.

Just think: if instead of Tx State, Lamar, and UTSA this year we have Louisville, Colorado, and NC. Yeah none of those teams are super stars and aren’t going to draw sell out crowds, but I bet we have more people than we do for Lamar. A former big 12 team we used to play and a team coached by someone we used to face all the time. Would be a lot more interesting.

And scheduling that far out you run the chance that someone gets good and you do have a good matchup. Clemson wasn’t consistently top 5 when we scheduled them years ago and look at how that turned out. Keeps it exciting.

I'm not too worried about our home game, I mean it is a whatever OOC home game but no worse than ASU or Colorado. It just doesn't have the same draw for the away game

Louisville is a total erection killer. This is one series that I really hope is cancelled before it happens. Unless they're highly ranked, they won't draw a crowd to Kyle Field. I personally don't really care to travel to Louisville.

A&M needs to schedule schools with better history or geographic locations. I wouldn't mind home and home games with schools like Washington, Cal, Stanford, UCLA (again), USC, Utah (again), Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State, or Wisconsin. Hell, find a way to get into the new Raiders stadium as a neutral opponent (I don't mind starting the season in Vegas).

I'm not digging this new AD. Scheduling Clemson, Colorado, Arizona State, Notre Dame, and Miami have been great matchups I look forward to seeing and travelling to. Louisville, not so much. I'm definitely skipping that one.
