Yep tough loss, but they definitely showed up to play.

A bit weary watching Gordon. This team would have looked a lot different with Wheeler running point

Our total and unchallenged sodomization of their football program for an entire decade has left them shattered. That's for sure

We need enough talent to make Gordon a 6th Man.

Update. He is now 73 lbs and 5 1/2 months old.

The best way to describe his breed is a Labernard Boxerdoodle

He doesn't shred my forearms anymore now that he's lost his baby teeth but he is part lab so he still has random biting fits.

Emanuel Miller transferring (presumably with the McNeillys)

It's gonna be hard to be worse in 2022 than we were the past two years, but we appear to be trending that direction.

A&M was 10-8 in the SEC 2 years ago, which was better than all but 2 of Kennedy's seasons.

Who cares what Kennedy did? Buzz is the coach and for the first two years, we weren't an NCAA team, we weren't on the bubble, we probably weren't even on the NIT bubble. That 10-8 record was after a disastrous non-conference that made the conference schedule almost irrelevant.

The first two years have not been good, and year 3 might actually be worse.

we have a lot of real backcourt talent coming and/or developing. if next year is somehow worse with this year with the recruiting additions and the 2nd year developments then yea we will need to worry about buzz

this year was bad. really bad. but i do not agree with you at all on year 1. he struggled with a very talent deficient roster but was able to pull wins out of his arse playing through nebo. we benefitted from a weaker SEC that year but we went on the road and beat auburn, beat an arkansas team that was probably making the tournament, and were poised to go on a real run in nashville before everything shutdown

There were some quality wins at the end, and he deserves some credit for pulling out of the mid-season nosedive.

But in totality, the overall resume of Year 1 was not good. And when you factor in that none of it carried over into Year 2 and other problems developed, I think it diminished the more positive outlook that characterized the last month of Year 1. I wouldn't say Year 1 was unacceptable, but it was more of what I would expect the bottom of Buzz's tenure.

Now we have a crappy Year 2 and Year 3 is starting extremely poorly and I'm beginning to wonder if Buzz comes anywhere close to living up to the hype from April 2019. A lot riding on Manny and the Uconn transfer, they both have to be solid starters for this to get better soon.

Buzz got a nice looking transfer from Wyoming. And he could be a 3 or 4 year player if things work out.

LINK

Texas A&M has been in extremely active in the transfer portal and landed a big piece on Saturday after in Wyoming transfer Marcus Williams.

Williams earned Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors after averaging 14.8 points and 4.3 assists per game last season as a freshman after a stellar senior year at Dickinson prior to that. As a senior Williams averaged 21.4 points per game and 7.3 assists per contest. He was rated as one of the best available prospects in the transfer portal by CBS Sports.

In addition to being named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year, Williams was also named a finalist for the Kyle Macy National Freshman of the Year by College Insider which is presented annually to the top freshman in the country.

Jaxson Robinson now in the portal. Freshman who graduated a year early and probably wasn't ready to play this year.

Hard to know what sort of talent we're losing, but he was one of the higher rated guys Buzz landed.

This is getting ridiculous. I believe players should have some amount of freedom, but this is full-on yearly free agency at this point.

Buzz isn't going to survive in the current environment. I think we will be looking for another basketball coach in a year or two ... have to rebuild and coach a new team essentially every year with the portal

All kinds of coaches dial for all types of reasons, but I don't know why this sentiment has become somewhat widespread regarding Buzzz. I don't think he's a guaranteed success, especially considering the slow start, but what about the current environment is Buzz not suited for?

Buzz has a system, and recruits players to play that system. He's used to developing players over a period of years. However, with what is essentially basketball free agency teams are going to change drastically from year to year going forward.

He's already lost several of his most promising recruits, and there will be more soon enough. He's not going to have the talent to compete in the SEC against the likes of UK, Arkansas, and Alabama that have embraced the new way of doing things. That goes for teams like Tennessee and Auburn as well, and those are off the top of my head

Maybe you're right and buzz is unable or unwilling to adapt. But he had a great team at VT two years ago, and the transfer epidemic had already developed by then.

Seems early to bury him.
