They don't look like ballplayers. Its kind of like the Dodgers v Yankees in the WS. The Yankees didn't do the simple stuff like cover 1st, make routine plays, prevent the extra base, etc.

I think the people who are saying it’s still early are kind of running out of time. We’re getting real close to having to just call this what it is

I can't understate just how terrible we look. So so so bad. But its too early to write them off. The SP is there. The offense has the talent. A switch can flip at any moment.

On May 1st of 2022, Ole Miss was 28-17 (7-14). They won their next 7 games (2 conference sweeps), snuck into the tournament, and proceeded to go 10-1 in regionals, supers, and the CWS.

I guess that’s a good example of never say never but this team/roster should not be thinking Cinderella story either.

I know Schott went thru a bad stretch late last season, but he still hit .330 and was awesome in Omaha. Gotta wonder how bad his knee situation really is. He does not look like the same hitter so far.

Jace was also in a funk for a while last year. Happens even to hitters as good as Altuve. But, man, I don’t like what I’m seeing from him so far. He sure doesn’t look like a top 10 pick, much less a 1 or a 2. He still has the same holes in his swing as his first year.

Kash is a proven hitter, but who only now might be starting to return to form.

Having all 3 of those guys underperforming at the same time is just a bitch from hell.

G-vac is done and Sorrell hasn’t even played yet.

And then there’s the ‘Keystoning’ fielding issue, which may not be fixable.

I don’t know, fellas. I just don’t know.

Sure. Ole Miss wasn’t either. They were preseason top 5.

My point is nothing is decided yet no matter how much this sucks.

Stolen from Twitter: “A&M baseball needs to go 12-1 in its remaining 13 non con games to match Ole Miss’ 2022 non con resume

That team went 14-16 in conference which will be hard in our conference slate

They were considered the “last team in” for post season.

It fair to be worried”

Jace hit 2 balls about 400' for outs last night. That's how our season goes.

I believe it was against UTSA but I think I heard the broadcast say we had 4-5 hits all over 100mph off the bat that resulted in outs. I’d say a decent portion of this hitting slump seems to be unlucky breaks on hard hit balls

Baseball Savant (statcast) gives expected stats based on exit velo and launch angle for big leaguers. I'd love to see that kind of data for college.

Good to see them back it up with a solid game today. TK2 now hitting above .400.

Another bad loss. Our rookie head coach has successfully dug a huge hole, and now he gets to start playing good teams

I’m honestly not terribly upset over taking 2/3. Yes it’s NMST should’ve been a clean sweep, but tbh if we would handled business earlier in the year this one loss wouldn’t be so big. It’s unfortunate that they have dug this hole. Hopefully the step up in competition wakes them up and they realize how series every weekend is. I saw a lot of stuff I like this weekend, bats look good, fielding looks improved. Just have to string it together for conference play. We’re not dead in the water, there’s a lot of opportunity to make this a great season but everything I’ve seen seen so far doesn’t make me believe in them at all.

Sec play, nothing matters now. Go win this series this weekend. That’s it, everything is right in front of this team still.

How's everyone feeling about the weekend series with Bama? I just started betting on college baseball games
