I'm seeing links pricing this from $39 to $139 and if it seems to good to be true, it usually is. The sites selling it for $39 remind of of Saul from Breaking Bad or a slimy used car salesman.

Keeping in mind my tech level is about that of a 6th grader and not using words like "virtualization", "boot camp", "virtual box", etc. whats the best price I can get to download a safe copy of windows for MAC. Honestly, all I really need it Microsoft Word if thats sold on it's on.

The internet is a scary place...one minute Im trying to buy/download windows and 5 minutes later I'm looking at videos of goats yelling like humans.

Thanks in advance

$44.99

vs

$139

Do I need to buy it from Mcrosoft? Apple? Are third party vendors okay and if so, who?

If you just need MS Word just buy Office for Mac.

You don't need Windows on a Mac to run Word

IDK if this is what you are talking about, but check out Parallels.

When I was in grad school, they recommended anyone with a MAC buy and run it. Of course it can't do everything Windows can, for example some advanced excel formulas, but its about as good as youre gonna get from what I understand. I would just buy a Windows laptop tho, as they are fairly cheap in comparison to MacBooks.

If you really need to run Windows - get Parallels or VMWare Fusion. Both of those will require you to install your own copy of Windows.

VMWare Fusion

Parallels Desktop

If you just need Microsoft Word - Get Office for Mac.
If you have an Office365 subscription, you can install the Mac version at no extra cost.
Have Office 365? Install Office for Mac now (near the bottom)

If you just need a cheap Office-like suite - use Open Office

Open Office
