Have been exposed to more close losses than I can ever recall. At least the Hogs have been mostly competitive, you guys would rip us a new one.

As of now ... starting next year ... that money all has to go through Deloitte. And they are rejecting well over 2/3 of the proposals.

As it works now. Some of you wear me the frick out. Because you purposely don't understand how things work. And then you're loud with how you don't understand it.

Do you understand the House Settlement ? No. You do not.

See if this helps you

Yes, both Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and direct revenue sharing exist in college sports in 2025, as the result of the House v. NCAA settlement. Revenue sharing is a new, direct payment system from universities to athletes, while NIL still exists as a separate income stream from third-party deals. Starting July 1, 2025, participating institutions can pay athletes directly, on top of the money they can earn through endorsements and other NIL activities.

Oh My God you are so fricking dumb.

There is a cap to those payments. About $23.5 Million ... all sports combined. As it works now.

Everything else, for now, goes through Deloitte. They're rejecting about 2/3 ... and holding up the rest.

Now - can you cheat ? You should. But you understand exactly NOTHING about how this system works. Stop talking about it.

So the $22m we are paying for basketball is 98% of the total?

Again ... you are a moron. This is literally the last year before all the new rules come into effect. Teams are front-loading all this shite ... because the cap - supposedly - comes into effect next year.

You could have even learned this just from reading Fox News. Or listening to Matt Jones. Stop talking. You understand NOTHING about how this works.

I am now thinking we need to fire him. Blown out by vandy and a bad Louisville team erases all the florida/auburn good will

Absolutely. I wasn't fooled by those wins. But we rarely beat either team, so yeah, I was willing to give Stoops some goodwill even if they sucked. We've beaten Auburn 7 times (including this year) ever. I don't really give a frick how bad they are.

But I'm keeping my money in my pocket and spending it on volleyball going forward.
I'm just never going to participate in that NIL horseshite. I'm all for the kids being able to get paid for doing local ads, autographs, jersey sales, whatever. Me personally contributing to pay someone to come here to Lexington? Not now, not ever. Total waste of money.

And that really is the point.

I shouldn't be the AD. Precisely because I understand the basics of this.

Why doesn't Mitch ? And he's not the only one.

I feel terrible for KY football fans. If it was a basketball loss I'd tell y'all to suck my dick but I'd still like you to have a better football team than whatever I watched today.

It really does stun me ... OK - stun is not the proper word. But that you, on the Internet, both assume that $22 Million will always be available just for the Orange Ball in Winter ... and that more than that will always fill the empty place on the back end.

Just ... because ?

We don't teach Economics anymore.

We aren't paying 22 mil. Ohio State paid 18 mil for their national championship football roster last season. If you believe we paid $4 million more for a basketball roster than Ohio State paid for a national championship football roster you're a damn fool.

Scogg is correct. The revenue sharing pool is apx $20 mil. He says it's $23.5, I'm not going to claim to know the precise $ amount. He is absolutely correct....UK has to decide which programs to funnel that money to, and frankly, anything that doesn't go to football or basketball is pissing money away.

We can all sing hippie campfire songs about women's basketball and volleyball but tossing large chunks of that revenue sharing at those minor sports is passing money away. Its an idiotic business decision.

Allowing those sports to profit off of NIL, as intended, is an entirely different subject and revenue stream.

I'm not sure why yall are arguing with him about this. He is correct. Now if we want to argue about whether UK SHOULD spend that revenue pool on those sports....thats an entirely different issue.
