Exactly. Like there is no purpose to this interaction beyond people accurately categorizing Lane’s actions.

Lane has a pretty good sense of humor, he would have come out of that a LOT better by coming up with some way to be funny with the kid.

What exactly is LK trying to accomplish here? He has obviously been listening to the outside noise. I’m sure the LSU fans will see this as some kind of big league move, but a D1 coach acting like a junior high bully because he got his feelings hurt is pretty lame, especially if he proves the guy right by leaving.

Lane is a bitch, he can go rot in that swampy arse state.

Disagree. Kiffin looked like he would love to kick that guys arse….. behind closed doors with no state troopers around. These reporters shouldn’t be calling anyone a hoe. That’s going too far.

I can see it both ways:

1. He is treating his current job like a relationship. By being so harsh he is ending it with OM via this reporter. A way to cut the cord so to speak.

2. He is staying and mad at local reporters dumping on him for being loyal and bringing them success.

If situation 1, this is about as bad and immature a way to handle leaving as he could script. There is no way he didn’t see someone filming that encounter. He’s making himself the bad guy for no reason.

If 2, then he is pretty thin skinned and has no awareness of how his own actions have come across to his own fanbase.

I’d offer up a third option. He knows he is going, and he is a little frustrated that his “reformed” image is taking a hit. This lash out isn’t going to help.

Did the reporter write that or did he say it right before and Lane heard it?

Reporter is the mouthpiece for his fanbase. He should not be fired.
