Vandy - UT
LSU - OU
Miami - Pitt
ND-Stanford
BYU- UCF

None of these would’ve meant a thing until 12 team playoff.

Well, yes, but also ruined bowl games as a whole.

A lot more games mean nothing now that it’s playoffs or bust.

It was already getting ruined by the opt-outs from the last 10 years though. It was becoming accepted and now no one bats an eye.

Bowl games ruined bowl games. They have created too many meaningless bowl games just for money and not other purpose. Half empty stadiums and sub 1 million viewers. Almost every other NCAA sport had a larger tournament to crown the NC, about time football got it right. They should expand it and merge more bowls into the bracket, it would make it mean more and bring in more money and viewers.

Dude all bowl games were meaningless, except for one, once we went to the BCS.

This is a dumb take that 90% of people had.

Bowl games used to be a big deal because there weren't many of them and since you seldom saw a no. 1 play a no. 2 due to bowl tie ins, NYD would have years like 1983 where four teams could feel like if things fell right, they might get the votes in the polls.

People that argued against the playoffs are very quiet losers these days.

Expanding to 32 would make even more meaningful games.

I could see 16.

Div 1 football should be reduced to 64 teams.

Expanding the playoffs was always going to mean more interesting and relevant games for more fans. Only the “blue bloods” complained about expansion because they don’t want their private club being opened up

The blue bloods will still win 90% of the time

Bowl games ruined themselves by making 100 of them

This is also true. In the 70's and 80's they were special.

Yeah but now I have to hear about 3 loss teams from Texas whining that they should be in.

I think I would sacrifice the significance of Pitt vs Miami to go back to a 4 team playoff.

I don't care about the bowls at all.

I would like to see conference contraction.

You don’t think the blue bloods have NIL and transfer advantages?

I juat want the BCS computer to pick the top 12 teams.

No auto bids. No committee.
