He did have Alabama on top but waited to visit Georgia again. It seems some things may have changed with Christian Miller expected to choose Alabama.

Basically Bama and UGA are on top, but AU is right behind them and closing fast. We're recruiting him the hardest and he plans to visit for BCW. I've heard he isn't a take for either UGA or Bama, possibly because he doesn't really fit into a 3-4. However, he's a great fit at 4-3 DE, I actually feel kinda good about landing him

I think he's a solid fit for a 3-4 scheme. But he'll likely grow into a 3-4 DE.

He's listed at 240. He'd have to put on at least 40 pounds to be a decent sized 3-4 DE. Most see him fitting better as a 4-3 DE, including 247 analysts

He's very similar to Ed Stinson, Jeff Pagan, and Xzavier Dickson at the same stage. Only Pagan didn't start out at LB. Either way, if he signs with Alabama or Georgia, he'll be headed to DE at some point.

Well clearly UTk isn't a factor if he can't remember his lead recruiter's name

I honestly have no clue. This is the latest in a recruiting cycle, that I can remember, where there aren't clear headliners at each position for Alabama.

Around the same time things started cooling with Sawyer the heat turned up on Johnny Dwight

Not saying the staff has him higher or anything but just something I noticed

Dwight wants to play NG, but I don't think that's the plan for him with Bama. I think he does pull the trigger on his June visit next month.

As for Sawyer, I think the sentiment is as a down lineman. He said he was 255 in an interview in January with TS, so he may be bigger than actually listed. Both UGA and Bama want to see him again, with Bama's mid June OL/DL camp a likely destination.

I think Bama wants a little more athleticism as an OLB. Nothing against Sawyer, but they've been pursuing players for both their OLB spots with both ability to rush the passer and stand in coverage. SAM especially on the latter, which is what the likes of Miller and BAW were recruited at.

I'd agree with that, which is where I got the "fits better in a 4-3" from. I don't see Sawyer being as effective as other OLBs at dropping in coverage, so he may fit better at 4-3 end, especially since he seems more comfortable with his hand in the dirt

Sawyer is probably the average high school kid who doesnt want to be a run stuffer. Wants to be a pass rusher. I think he ends up at AU.

Man we really wanted Dwight but he has been all gungho that Bama offer. Sucks for us.

Yep, pretty crazy his offer list has remained so small. Even before the Bama offer, seems like someone would have saw that LSU offered and done the same.

He's got a pretty good mindset about DL, he likes playing inside because it's more physical...
