If either ND or FSU release Vanderdoes or Thomas and the other school doesn't, it could really be a PR nightmare for the school that forces either of them to stay.
It looks like Vanderdoes is wanting to go to UCLA...
Vanderdoes possible LOI release request

Not a chance will it be a PR nightmare. IF they had a legitimate reason for being released, then it would be a PR nightmare.

It doesn't really matter if there is a valid reason or not. In today's social media society, the court of public opinion does not need any solid reasons to crucify anyone for not granting a chance for a kid to change his mind. It is the way of the world we live in. I understand you being defensive on the matter, as you are a fan of one of the schools in question. However, it would most certainly not bode well for FSU if ND were to possibly release Vanderdoes from an LOI. FSU would most certainly see some sort of backlash for not doing the same. If both schools stick to their guns and do not grant a release, it would be for the betterment of the NCAA as a whole; but as well all know, nothing in the world of the NCAA comes without some sort of drama.

The MT story has been out for how many weeks and where is the backlash? You're just overplaying what sort of impact this may have. Please find the number of new stories/articles depicting the outrage/backlash.
Let's say hypothetically it does have some sort of impact on recruiting (which it won't) - it would blow over in a year.
My opinion has absolutely nothing to do with FSU. I would feel the same regardless of my team affiliation. Players need legitimate reasons to break an LOI.

Brian Kelly kills student videographers to get film of practice. Guess whether or not he will grant the release.

For the record, you should know that I firmly believe that neither school should let them break the LOI.
My point is simply that today's media could have a field day with these schools if one did and the other did not allow it. National media certainly has no problem dragging anything NCAA related through the mud as it is already.

How can I do that when clearly the Vanderdoes information is just now coming to light. It is not even clear yet that he has requested release from and LOI. I am just relaying information that I saw on twitter.

Right. But your point is unfounded. The MT drama has been leaked for a while now and there has been little to none outrage or backlash.

GOOD GOD Dude. I said IF one school does allow a release and the other doesn't!! THEN media would have a reason to hold the other school feet to the fire. IF!
I sure hope you are not married, because conversing with you is like talking to a wall.

Pretty random hypothetical there. Not sure why that would suddenly create some sort of media backlash.

They signed the contract, nobody forced them to. I wouldn't release them without extenuating circumstances.

Some are saying MT's mom pressured him to go to FSU fwiw

Of course not. Why would you. You have pretty steadfast in you stubbornness on the board thus far, why break precedent now.

Then he should've nutted up and went where he wanted to go.

Parents have always played a pretty big role in where their kids end up playing. That's nothing new.

Welcome to the SEC Recruiting board.

You made a point, I made a point. You then completely changed your initial point. It's pretty simple, where is there any sort of outrage over the MT fiasco (other than the UGA/Miami boards)?

Well they haven't yet publicly blocked his release. If they were to block his release then the media/etc would take the story and get miles off of it.
I think that is what he meant.

Thank you sir. He understands what I meant; he is clearly fabricating a counterpoint when there isn't one to be made. Either that or simple reading comprehension eludes him.

Hey, look at that. I found three separate news articles all saying that MT won't be granted his release. Where's the drama?
