You being here on an SEC Board talking SEC recruiting.

Why? I follow LSU and Clemson.

Bama fan who acted all butthurt when I made the statement that Saban and Spurrier cancel each other out.

It's an idiotic statement, anyone would agree.

quote:

Who have the two recruited against one another? I dunno, don't care either, I was just making an aprpos response the one the Bama fan made immediately after I stated they cancelled one another out.

Then again, let me think ... Brandon Shell, Phillip Dukes, one of the Dixon Brothers, Marcus Lattimore, Stephon Gillmore, Jadeveon Clowney - all of them from SC yes, but I could give a rat's arse. I didn't qualify my statement by limiting it to states. I simple said, they cancel one another out ... and they do on those that they go against one another. It's about even. Can we split hairs? Sure we can, and apparently we are - but I don't care, it's nonsense.

Ok, we will revisit your statement. Spurrier cancels out Saban when recruiting South Carolina prospects from Gamecock friendly areas. This, I might agree with.

quote:

I like our chances with Hand. Deke Adams has been recruiting Hand since he was a sophomore in High School and we're in his Top 3 or 4. I'll take those odds. Plus I like the fact that he talks regularly with Clowney. I think that alone is worth something.

Did you not read my statement where I said Carolina is my favorite outside of VT?

quote:

Oh, and don't tell me Saban was not after every one of those kids I listed above because he had late, in home, visits with all of them. And Rumpf had numerous visits with some of them before Spurrier ever went in.

No one is saying Saban wasn't after them. They're OOS kids for him and instate kids for you. How is this so difficult to understand?

One would think that since Spurrier is so good "head to head against Saban when recruiting prospects he would just go "head to head" for all of our 5 stars and 4 stars and just take 'em all.

Ah, I wonder why he doesn't?

You said USC couldn't get a top player out of Alabama. Walton was from Alabama and was a top 25 ILB who originally committed to Penn State (then all that shite happened up there) so it came down b/w Auburn, Tenn and USC. So yeah, that was just last year.

I have never heard of him so I'm pretty sure he was never even on Bama's radar.

This, bama never really had a great shot with all of those players because they all really wanted to be at usc. It would be like usc getting milliner, julio or kirkpatrick from bama.

Agreed, plus the most any of us can sign in a year is 25 or so, and sometimes less. Like this year SC is only able to sign 15-17 because we're still so young and depending upon how many more juniors go early.

So there are plenty to go around, and no one gets them all.

My whole point was that SC and Spurrier are signing plenty of talent in key areas ... and it shows on the field IMHO. We need to sustain that.

Conversely, pre-Saban Bama's level of talent had dropped substantially IMHO, and it showed on the field. So there is definitely something to be said for coaching'em-up, but also for signing the best talent possible at each position.

Bama does that in spades and more. SC and Spurrier have to continue to build and build and build.

It also raises the questions where Georgia is concerned. Georgia always signs better classes than SC, but look what has happened on the field recently. Is it coaching, or is the talent Georgia is signing overrated for some reason?

I just saw his profile. Last 6 predictions for Bama.

On an unrelated note one bad thing about the predictions on 24/7 is going to be writers getting false info and running to make a prediction to try to look smart then ending up looking like dumbasses in the end.

At his size I could see him growing into a DE for Bama.

I think we're going to size the ideal Alabama end change from 290-300 pounds to 260-280 pounds.

That they missed the National Championship Game by 4 yards in the SECCG?

You're not very good at this.
