I don't think the OP's post is a "rumor". It's an actual tweet from a "insider". That being said, I don't think LSU will be a major player in the end. It's Ole Miss and Clemson that are the bigger factors because they're willing to use 2-3 scholarships on him.
On the one hand you're saying that you don't consider him a lock, but then you say that the only way to get him from Bama is to take his teammates. But when reading the info on this kid, it seems like he is just using his status to get his teammates offers and then doesn't plan on following through with those schools.
I think it's obviously a Bama, LSU, Ole Miss race, but I think he's just using the other schools to get his teammates scholarships...
I think in the end it's LSU vs. Bama.

To think he will go to LSU is laughable. It is VERY far away from his father and his brother. Not saying he will go to ole miss, just saying it is between us and Bama. And honestly I think he goes to Bama.

So him saying that LSU is his leader doesn't put us in the hunt? Why would he go to Ole Miss?
It's LSU or Bama dude.

shhh, Ole Miss fans are desperately hanging onto the one aspect of his recruitment that won't really be a deciding factor...Hugh Freeze is going to land this fish.

If I had to lay money on this, he's going to Bama. But I don't think that the dirty arse former teammate of Nkemdiche's HS coach can be counted completely out of this one.

What does LSU offer that Alabama and Ole Miss do not?
Bama: championships and a pedigree for sending guys to the NFL
Ole Miss: his brother and we actually send some guys to the NFL as well, despite popular belief.

Honestly, I don't think it does.
If you've been paying attention to his recruitment, he's been saying a lot of things in interviews and on twitter that are pretty obviously done to gain hype for himself and his friends.
He's always on twitter begging for new followers and giving over the top glowing reviews of the schools he visits. IMO he's trying to gain fame and as retarded as it sounds, twitter followers.
The people who know the situation have said it's always been Bama.
Trying not to sound like too much of homer but with this one I think it's the truth.

Well let's see here.
LSU has : Dline U
we are about to have a redshirt sophomore and first year starter likely go in the top ten in the draft.
We will have at least one maybe two DE's in the 1st round next year. Logan at DT could also be drafted in the 1st. LSU's DC is here for the long haul.
Dorsey
Jackson
Nevis
Livingston
Green
Spears
Woods
Hill(RIP)
Williams
Pittman
That's just in the past ten years. Most of those guys were LA born and raised.
Ole Miss has a new staff that Is a huge unknown. His brother is who said they would play together. Not Robert.
Bama offers him everything.... Except he would have to possibly gain weight for them. We can ask him to step in and contribute as is. Mingo is about his size now. We offer the 4-3 that highlights the use of our Dline and specifically our DE's. That's something Bama can't offer. That's something you know Ole miss could offer, but they would be kidding themselves to even suggest such a thing.

I have not seen anything from anybody trustworthy that indicates anything different regarding Nkemdiche than what was being said months ago.
It's Alabama and it's been Alabama for a while now.

Defensive Linemen drafted last 5 years, 2006-2011:
LSU: 10
(Drake Nevis, Pep Livingston, Al Woods, Tyson Jackson, Ricky Jean Francois, Glenn Dorsey, Chase Pittman, Claude Wroten, Kyle Williams, Melvin Oliver)
Alabama: 4
(Dareus, Mt. Cody, Deaderick, Marc Anderson)
Ole Miss: 3
(Jerry, Powe, Hardy)
BCS Championships: LSU (2), Alabama (2), Ole Miss (lol)
LSU: Championships and an unrivaled pedigree for sending DL to the NFL. A 4-3 defense that suits RN's talents, and 2 underclassmen DE's that will be going pro following next season.
Bama: Champpionships and a pedigree for sending guys to the NFL.
Ole Miss: ??????

Who do you consider trustworthy? Because there are three interviews claiming LSU his leader ATM and not once during his recruitment has he named a leader before yesterday.

Do you belive that LSU is RM's #1 choice right now?
Posted on 3/20/12 at 1:33 pm to UPT
Right now. Yes. Two months from now,... Doubtful.
Have you seen anything to say we aren't his leader??
Our side hasn't even interviewed him yet. All the post visit interviews are non LSU.

I explained how I felt a few posts above. I'm not judging, just curious as to your feeling.
I get the feeling this is the kind of kid who really wants to be liked and really wants to be famous. I don't think this is the last time we will have headlines like this one with other schools and RN but my gut tells me that he's all Bama. I don't have this feeling with RF. I didn't have it with JW. This one feels different to me(no homo).
