What are you talking about. These guys are in HS! Regardless of where RN goes he's no where near his ceiling. You'd have to be a complete idiot to think that.

Classic coonass. Use one game to judge the ability of a player. You do realize Lawson had the flu during the entire all-star week, right?

Once again coonass gets called out. I've ran out of popcorn waiting in the Connor thread for a reply. Expect the same here...

Lawson has one of the quickest first steps I've ever seen based on his film. He seems like a pretty intelligent dude based on the interview with him and RN during UA week. The sky's the limit for him, RN, and CJ. To say CJ is obviously better than Lawson is a stretch though. Blind homerism at its best.

Or would "worst" be more appropriate?

Once again -- It is clear that my logic is flying way over your head. Reread until you get it...

That sounds like a post someone would make when they have no freaking clue what they are talking about...

This sounds like a reply someone would make when they don't have a clue.

RN is a significantly more developed and refined football player than Chris Jones at this point--the guy ONE spot behind him in the rankings. True or false?

Can Mullins develop and refine him though? He seems to be at a stand still, if not going backwards. Don't say "8-5" or whatever, bc we all know the truth to that record, not that I'm making fun of it. Serious question though.

Why of course. The question is, can Freze develop and refine his croots? He's had 1 year. Our fan base was really fired up after year 1 in the Mullen era also, and we still are. Can Freze maintain that? like Mullen has. We've had 20 plus straight sellouts to prove it.

We've got 2 Dan Mullen/David Turner-coached DL still starting in the divisional championship round of the NFL playoffs in Kyle Love and Pernell McPhee.

Then you've got Fletcher Cox with the Eagles(recruited and coached first yr by Turner), and Josh Boyd(same as Cox involving Turner), who will be drafted, although who knows when given his likely stock drop this year.

It's pretty obvious that Chris Wilson was a good recruiter and a crappy coach. We never saw improvement with any of his DL over his 3 years -- and it's clear all he taught was bullrushing. We never did any stunting or delay blitzing or anything else either, even when it was clear that we were outmatched talent-wise(with the guys he was playing anyway). Turner is a good coach and average recruiter(was here with Croom for 07 and 08 as well as with Mullen in 09, so we have a good idea what we're getting with him). He shouldn't have any trouble coaching up Jones and the other talent already on roster -- although I'm slightly less enthusiastic about his ability to recruit additional excellent talent.

Yes. RN is more developed than Chris Jones at this moment. So is Elijah Daniel, so is Carl Lawson, etc.

I guess all those guys are close to their ceiling because they received better HS coaching?

The truth is these kids are no where near the potential they have. They are in HS.

You are confused. I'm not trying to get into one of your little arguments. Nobody knows about how freeze can develop, that is yet to be seen. Pernell McPhee was NFL ready out of juco, so he doesn't give us any insight. Didn't State have some kid who was supposed to be badass on the d line this year that wasn't though? Boyd or cox or something? Then again, it's probably up to the coordinators and assistants, so maybe he should be making better hires or something? I'm really not trying to get into one of your little fights. Trying to actually talk football. Chill...

It means they are much, much closer, yes.

Thanks for the decent answer. Like I said, I disagree on McPhee, he was ready before he got to State. Guess we will see

What did I say to make you think I wasn't chilled? You asked a pretty dumb question. We've had plenty of kids developed and sent on to the pro's, under the guidance of Mullen. Carry on.

Their "ceilings" are also completely subjective. This goes for any players at any school, not just state and OM. Work ethic is the difference in great and good. It's what keeps "raising the roof" swidt?

I sense the butthurt with you of Chris Jones now being the #2 ranked recruit in the country.
