Robert Nkemdiche is an absolute freak. No question about it. IMO though Chris Jones may have a higher ceiling. #MSU. Some here would agree.
Unbiased 3rd party.
I'm not going through multiple 300 reply threads on the 24/7 blue board, many threads on Bulldawgs 24/7, and scrolling 25 refreshes on recruiting writers' twitter in order to prove that this has been said -- all MSU fans have already seen it widely reported.
Whether or not you believe that, I really don't care...

Well don't go around acting like its common knowledge that all recruiting services are saying Jones has a higher ceiling than Nkemdichie if your not ready to back it up.

Well don't go around acting it's common knowledge he didn't back it up when it's common knowledge he did back it up.

He's raw. You just cant ignore that and saw he'll be better than all of these guys who already have a jump on him in technique and level of competition faced.
Sure you can -- if you are projecting into the future. Kid has played under 20 football games in his career. Been to one camp ever(MSU). Had near zero coaching, little weight training, at a highschool with a ton of disadvantages. He's consistently beating ELITE OTs with that background. As such, it's easy to say that he's NOWHERE NEAR as good as he can be.
At the same time, you have RN -- who has been to a tremendous number of football camps for(at least) 3 years now. He's very well-coached at a huge highschool. He's had elite-level highschool weight training. As such, it's pretty easy to say that he's alot closer to his ceiling than Chris Jones is.
That brings up another point... it's what's unclear about recruiting rankings. Do they rank how good a player is right now? How good they think they can be in college? NFL potential? Those are 3 very, very different questions.

Lol you don't know what consensus means
I don't have a problem with Engie. He knows his shite. If he would have said some people think CJ has a higher ceiling I wouldn't have said anything.

Fair enough. Consensus was a bad choice of wording by me, if for no other reason, because it's damn near impossible to prove either way.
Everyone else... How ya like the MS schools arguing about the #1 and #2 overall recruits?
Pretty good chance that 6 of the top 34 in the final 24/7 rankings end up playing ball in MS this year...

I said was that it has been widely reported by many national recruiting writers that they believe Jones has the highest ceiling of anyone in this class
No, they said he may or might have a higher ceiling than RN.

absolutely...no doubt about it with Lawson

You just told me all I need to know. You think a 18 year old HS player is near his ceiling...

ORLY? Why is Lawson such a slouch now?

Who said he was a slouch? It's just obvious from watching them both in the UA game as to who is better. Very obvious

It says in the OP "during the rivals and scout era"

Well-coached HS players are often very near their ceiling. Especially well-coached players who have grown to the size that Nkemdiche has -- in that kind of physical condition with obviously tremendous weight training over many years.
The fact that you don't realize the difference in development between a guy playing at one of the largest and best football schools in Ga with at least 3 years a starter, while getting the best coaching nationally in the summer --- and a guy who has played 1.5 years of competitive football at any level in a little school in MS tells me all I need to know as well...

Deljuan Robison was pretty high.
