Dontae Walker and Marcus Dupree were all prior to the current set-up of recruiting services, all-star games, and summer camps that help evaluate players more efficiently. Though Dupree's talent speaks for itself. I saw Walker play in high school. He was ridiculous.

I realize that. The point remains that, when he was a senior, Dupree was considered the flat-out best high school player out there. I know there weren't rankings and shite back then but it was more of a generally understood type of thing.

Mark Dodson isnt a top 247 player...

Dee Liner isnt a top 100 player...Kailo Moore is rated higher than Liner....

Elijah Daniel is rated higher than Laquon Treadwell...

I'm not so sold on 247.

Link? Demonstrate this consensus, sir.

How am I supposed to provide a "consensus" on a message board? Did no one pay attention the entire week surrounding the UA game?

Andrew Bone ?@AndrewJBone
Robert Nkemdiche is an absolute freak. No question about it. IMO though Chris Jones may have a higher ceiling. #MSU. Some here would agree.

Kipp Adams ?@KippLAdams
If any prospect is going to unseat Robert Nkemdiche as the No. 1 prospect, it might be #MissSt DE commit Chris Jones.

Kipp Adams ?@KippLAdams
After Day 1 of #UAGame practice, Carl Lawson says #MissSt DE commit Chris Jones might be the No.1 prospect in the country.

That's just the ones I retweeted...

That's not even close to consensus. A few opinions don't mean shite. There is a reason everyone said RN exceeded expectations during the UA week an went wire to wire as the #1 player in the country.

Scout has entirely too many 5 star players most years. I'm a Rivals guy when it comes to recruiting. So no thank you to the Yancy jab.

Also if everyone agrees Chris Jones is extremely raw but has unlimited potential which is why he is their #2 player, why not just make him #1 then if the potential is higher than RN?

It was used by national media guys asking RN how it felt going wire to wire as the #1 national recruit.

And there's a reason that a guy went from NR -- to 85 3* -- to 92 4* -- to 95 4* -- to 98 5* -- to 99 5* -- to 100 5* and the #2 overall recruit in the country in 9 months...while playing a grand total of NINETEEN highschool football games in his ENTIRE CAREER. He's been playing highschool football for a grand total of 18 months now...

Show me any consensus saying otherwise? Consensus is hard as shite to prove on a message board.

You mean the consensus of ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 24/7 that's in the business of evaluating high school talent and ranking how they project at the college level? They all have RN ranked #1. ill use that.
