I don't even care that we're listed as #2. Lists like this don't even take into account kids that pop early, who make it clear that they're only looking at X schools, and etc.
Drew Barker isn't even on that list and he's easily one of the Top 10 QBs in his class.

Then it's kind of flawed right off the bat.
FWIW, here's their methodology.
Now here is their top 10 weighted schools:
1) Alabama
2) LSU
3) Oregon
4) South Carolina
5) Stanford
6) Oklahoma
7) Texas A&M
8) Oklahoma State
9) Kansas State
10) Georgia
Other SEC schools:
11) Florida
14) Arkansas
25) Mizzou
27) Auburn
28) Miss State
43) Vandy
53) Tennessee
58) Ole Miss
79) Kentucky
They're only using the ELO Chess rating going back to 2010 though. And it also doesn't take into account how a player fits into a system, the needs of the particular teams (especially in such a short span), and etc.
Really, really flawed.
FWIW, here's their methodology.
quote:
The proprietary methodology (How it works):
1) The offers that D1 colleges have extended to athletes are gathered from one of the recruiting services. The rankings on this site are based upon combined data retrieved from the Rivals and ESPN services.
2) Each offer is assigned a value based upon the relative success of the program extending the offer. A description of the weighting method along with the values for each program can be found here: LINK /
3) All of the points for a player’s offers are added together to calculate that player’s total offer points.
4) The players are then ranked based upon their total offer points. To determine rankings for college recruiting classes, all of the total offer points for each of their commits are added together. The total offer points for all of the D1 college recruiting classes are then compared to arrive at the recruiting class rankings.

Yay! Another useless ranking for Tennessee!

Only problem is a school can't confirm or deny an offer to a SA... You gotta believe the SA or his HS coach on offers & a lot of them are total BS.....
Remember the kid who had a presser to commit to Stanford or Cal??
The school couldn't confirm or deny that this kid was bullshittin' everybody....

i see where this list is going but some teams dont offer big time kids because; a) not in an area they are strong in. B) kid shows no interest and no use in wasting assets. and c) the kid doesn't fit their scheme.

Is UT that desperate for good news?

Going off of a list based on offers is dumb. A lot of people don't realize this, but the players dictate the offers listed on their profile pages, and you are crazy if you don't think a good majority fudge the shite out of their offers. It happens all the time.
