I said the last "great" RB not the last "good" RB (e.g., Hilliard, Hill, etc.). "Great" to me means a RB that will be the first back taken in the draft (or any first round back if there are multiple great backs in a class).
You mean that injury prone RB that got these comments?
quote:
Bucky Brooks ?@BuckyBrooks 21m The lack of conditioning exhibited today will lead some coaches and scouts to question his work ethic. Concerns must be addressed in Mtgs
Bucky Brooks ?@BuckyBrooks 29m He posted a 32.5 vertical and 9-7 broad jump & clocked a 4.44 short shuttle. Disappointing positional workout. Out of shape.Unable to finish
That 1st round LOCK is watching his draft stock plummet.

I know, that is why I pointed out Hill.
Sorry, I assumed you meant "good." I didn't know you didn't watch football.
Hill 2012 totals: 775 yards @ 5.3 a carry
Lacy 2012 totals: 1322 @ 6.5 a carry
That is the difference between "good" and "great"

Anyone who quotes someone named Bucky Brooks in order to win an argument has already lost.
Do you really believe he will not be the first RB taken in the draft?

You don't know WTF you're talking about clown,as usual.

Are you disputing the stats I found on ESPN or that Lacy will be the first back taken in the draft?
Complements on the insult though (I think calling someone a clown is underrated with the new generation).

Eddie Lacy isn't, and wasn't, great.
Then again, you and I probably have different definitions for that word.

I can respect that.
What would you call someone who NFL teams think is the best college RB in the entire country?

Hill barely played until half way through the season. Honestly, they both aren't considered "great" in my eyes just yet. This is from lsusports.net:
quote:
Had one of the best true freshman seasons in LSU history with 755 yards rushing with 12 TDs ... Added eight receptions for 73 yards ... Did all of that despite playing in just four of LSU's first six games ... Carried the ball just 13 times thru first six weeks of the season

Im disputing the assumption of Lacy being better than Hill.I had the luxury of seeing both play in H.S. AND Hill was better then and will prove to be better once his career at LSU is complete. Those stats don't mean shite when Lacy was the featured back and Hill didn't see significant PT until mid season.

He probably will be. But I think that draft position is overrated. Sure he may be the best Rb in this draft, but what's his competition? Are there other Rbs that you would consider great in this draft. Would he go first in previous RB heavy drafts?

Attacking the person instead of the argument is a sure sign of immaturity.

You're comparing stats only to make your point that Lacy is better than Hill?
Watch the two run. There isn't much difference except Hill hasn't been injured and has played two fewer years.
There is over a yard per carry difference - that HUGE.

How can this be true if he had such a lower yard per carry average. By the way - Lacy's yard per carry was even higher when he was not the feature back (7.3 as a freshman and 7.1 as a soph.).
5.3 yards per carry is average (especially considering he wasn't even a "true" freshman as he had to sit out a year with legal problems).

I agree, very mild, but to first resort to that is immature. Why can't we have a normal football discussion?

I misread it also then because it seemed like you said we paid for him and the icing was not taking a running back.
Also, Garfield I know you troll 99% of the time but if you think Bama had the best O-Line in the country last year than Lacy was not great. By the simple fact that he was outplayed by a freshman and the great back that left the year before him outplayed him about a million times over when they were both the featured back. So no Lacy was not "great" in college.

I don't think either one of us misread it.

Brother, he is projected to be the first picked RB in the draft!! If I am wrong about him being great - so is the NFL (and they know Bama had a good OL last year).
