Funny, I haven't heard that at all I've heard everything from FSU being completely out to it being between FSU and Uk, or between UK and UNC. Just goes to show how many rumors are out there and nobody really has too much of a clue.

Yeah basically all the recruiting guys are saying if it doesn't come out of Andrew or his father's mouth don't believe it.

That and being prepared for the NBA, which Wiggins says is the primary goal for his year-long stint in college. “And winning,” Wiggins said. “Coach (John) Calipari said we’d win games by a lot if I came to Kentucky because no one could play help defense. I love that because I love to dominate. Who doesn’t like to win by a lot? But I have to be prepared for the league. I’m really focused on that. Just gotta figure out where that preparation will happen.”

This was from a USA Today article during the week of the McDonalds All-American game. It's a pretty good read, but the above quote from Wiggins is interesting. It's so tough to guess what he wants to do, but seems like winning and the NBA are most on his mind. The fact he mentions what Cal said makes you think he doesn't mind the idea of playing with all those guys next year. Yeah it's a team of all stars but Wiggins stands above all of them. He will start and get minutes. Also what better way to prepare for the NBA than practice against a roster of future NBAers everyday. If winning big, a national title, and preparing for the NBA are at the forefront, then UK is my best guess followed by UNC.

Again, who knows with Wiggins? He could easily end up at KU or FSU. And I will admit that I selfishly want him at UK being a college basketball fan. Who wouldn't love to watch that roster next year, it would be sick for that much talent on one team

Which means no one knows anything. Those two have not really tipped their hand at all throughout this process

Honestly the last couple of weeks at all the all-star events everything he has said has pointed to being a Kentucky lean besides how many good players they already have committed.

He has said he wants to win a lot. He says he wants to play in a system that will prepare him for the NBA. He has been spending time with a lot of Kentucky commits the last 3 weeks. Calipari was the last coach to meet with him. Nike has apparently been in his ear.

I really don't buy the argument that he wouldn't want to play with all these talented players at Kentucky. He will face the best competition possible every single day in practice. It is not like if he doesn't put ridiculous numbers he won't be the number 1 pick in the draft. I think the guy could average 14-17 points and still easily be the number 1 pick off of potential alone. He could be a part of history, which has to be a tough thing to turn down.

Convenient that the Hoops Summit was in Portland and of all the players on the World team to room with and he's placed with Karl Towns.

This is the one thing I've looked the most at and I started to move to that side of the spectrum in what Wiggins might be considering. Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 11.9 and 7.4 in his one year at Kentucky and look where he got drafted. It just depends if he wants to be the man somewhere and be relied upon to lead his squad (his other three options) or if he wants to lose some playing time and just play his part for a team like Kentucky

Wiggins is going to get the #1 pick in next year's draft whether he's playing with the studs at Kentucky/UNC or he's playing as a more standout role at somewhere like FSU. He's not going to lose any PT at UK either IMO. He's the kind of guy that'll be on the floor as long as he wants as long as he's putting in the work and stays out of foul trouble (and I think he will).

And it's not a hard sell for Cal to make in that regard either. As has been said, Davis and MKG weren't even first in team in minutes or shots and went #1 and #2.

As far as not wanting to be in the spotlight/being shy, he's going to be in the spotlight wherever he goes. The fishbowl at Kentucky can be rough but at least you're not in it alone. Despite his on the court demeanor MKG was a pretty shy kid and even had a significant enough stuttering problem that he was concerned about all of the media attention. Cal and Co. went a long way to get him acclimated to that.

I think it would be best if he did a twitter announcement.

I don't think anyone looks at this thread anymore except for about 5 people. A mod will delete it if they see fit...if they see it at all

Two rumors floating around. One comes from Coach K saying that Wiggins's father wants him at FSU or KU. And that Calipari told Coach K that UK/UNC are tier 2 for Wiggins.

Second is that Hamilton has been telling people (people as in other HCs) that Wiggins committed to FSU after the FSU visit.

Both are from non-FSU boards, FWIW.

Don't know if I can post the full rumors, but that's the jist.

eta: apparently a UNC insider is saying the decision has been made and will be announced in the next few days

I also saw that second rumor you posted, can't remember where I saw it though. I've also seen a rumor on a UNC board that one of their assistants has been telling people Wiggins is leaning to Kentucky.

I think the only thing certain about Wiggins is the uncertainty of where he is going. I've never seen a top recruit be this tight-lipped about his recruitment to where people who are paid money to follow this have no clue where he is going and we are left to rely on message board "rumors" as to where he may be headed

Yeah, there's some question about the rumor about Cal because it came from a UNC board.

Holy shite

Are you freaking kidding me! How would K know or even care what Wiggins' father says? He's not even recruiting him to Duke but talks to Wiggins' father? That's a good one.

But the one where Cal is talking to K about Wiggins is even funnier. Do people not know how ridiculous these two rumors sound?

Yes he committed to FSU that long ago but still hasn't made an announcement this whole time. What would be his reason for that?

I've been seeing this from UNC fans every week for the last 3 weeks.

Oh and by the way, did I mention that when he does announce, Wiggins is going to sign with UK?

It's not absolutely absurd, because these guys talk quite a bit. Especially on the AAU circuit and often about recruiting. But I question the source.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he signs with FSU though.

If he's smart he won't sign anywhere. He'll just commit and show up.

Rumor possibly tomorrow, but I'm not believing anything in this recruitment until it comes from someone in the Wiggins family

I know there is some advantage to doing it that way, but what is it?

I also know that there is only about 1 or 2 kids in any sport each year that could do it.
