That is nice to name the guys that got the playing time, but you are ignoring the 4 and 5 stars that aren't seeing the field.

The reality is that if Bama signs 4 big time RBs in this class, that will make it somewhat less appealing to next year's class. Whether it is unappealing enough to keep a recruit from signing likely depends on the individual recruit. Some will look past it and others won't.

It is about Aubs hoping Bama gets Tenpenny and all of the RB recruits this year, to give us a better chance at even better in state RBs next year that prefer Bama at the moment.

wasnt AU trying to score a visit from Tenpenny last week?

Not that I am aware of

You did try to get in on him and bring him in for a visit last weekend but that was because of Tim Horton's previous relationship with him at Arkansas and not just Auburn deciding to recruit him out of the blue.

Other than Rock, who is a Bama lock, who are all these instate running back that are better than Tenpenny?

I don't keep up with recruiting enough to know for sure, but Scarborough and the Rock guy you mentioned have been named on here.

Theyre both coming to Bama no matter what happens.

Maybe. I have no idea. But the more elite backs Bama signs this year, the better the chance someone has to change their minds.

Scarborough and the Rock

One is a Bama commit, and the other has grown up with Bama as his dream school so he is - at minimum - a Bama lean.

We need to see where guys like Tenpenny and Kamara sign before we assume it is 4 "RBs" in this class. If all sign with Bama, then we need to see where guys like Henry and Kamara play before we assume 4 "RBs". Just too early to make assumptions about how 2013 will negatively impact 2014 class.

(and Scarborough may not play RB in college...Rock almost certainly will)

Which is why I said they favored Bama at the moment.

Obviously.

Well, they were recruited as RBs, so I think even changing positions provides some negative recruiting ammo.

What assumptions?

You are too defensive about some pretty innocent comments on recruiting. All that was said is that if Bama signs 4 or so big time recruits this go around, then it could help sway guys like Scarborough and Rock. Nothing offensive or untrue about that.

Not all all, bruh. Hard to tell tone and inflection over email. I meant those comments to read conversationally, not confrontationally.

I thought Saban would be making a hard run at next year's likely #1 RB Leonard Fournette out of New Orleans St. Augustine but with the logjam at the position that may be building this year, Bama may not appeal to Fournette as would ordinarily be the case.

I pointed this out a few pages back.

I personally think Fournette will be better than any back in the 2013 class, but have to wait till his senior year to really have a better idea.

I look at film of Tenpenny and see Ronnie Wingo Jr. all over again. I hope he's a Hog and I hope I'm wrong but I remember how Wingo was such a big "must have" for us and he's been useless except for a catch out of the backfield here and there. Tenpenny doesn't seem to like it between the tackles and that's where you need RB's to shine in the SEC.

running between the tackles.... watch his highlight film.... if you know anything about football you'll know what I mean. Of course being a Mizzou fan you may not know what I mean.
