We're gonna sign Collins and the Houston kid. Won't have room for Tenpenny and he'll end up having to settle for La. Tech.

Lacy went to the pros. Calloway is an HB. Dee Hart is injury prone and not that great as a RB, and fowler is going to be more of a fullback and HB.
Yeldon and Drake are the only guys really ahead of any of the incoming freshman.

All true, but there are so many touches to go around, regardless of what we call the position. I will be surprised if Fowler isn't getting his fair share of touches next year. So after Yeldon and Fowler, and a combination of Hart and Drake, it will be tough to contribute early, which is what most high school running backs intend to do.

The #2 RB spot behind Yeldon is wide open for next year just like it was wide open behind Lacy last offseason. If one of the new RBs has Yeldon-type talent, then he will get considerable PT.

That's very true. But my point is that Fowler is still going to get his share of touches even as an H-back, so the #2 RB behind Yeldon is probably not going to get as many carries as Yeldon this year or Lacy the year before or Richardson before that.
If Fowler had been healthy this year, he would have gotten some of those carries. He's just too damn effective as a big ball carrier in certain situations.

So are Arky fans feeling good about Tenpenny flipping or ios he leaning towards another school. Hard to fathom him setting another announcement date just to say Bama all over again

I don't feel good about it but it's either us or Bama. No one else is being considered.

Yep. Yeldon, Drake, Hart all sophmores and talented. Fowler sitting there to get carries next year. Highly doubtful an incoming freshman is going to get any carries at all next year and honestly probably not much of anything in 2014.
And by that time (when Yeldon goes pro and Drake and Hart are seniors), Bama may have signed Bo S, to go along with 2-3 talented backs coming in this year.
This is just not the year to be a RB signing with bama and expect to see the field for a few years if at all.

I have no idea. I haven't read one thing about Tenpenny and don't much care.
I am just commenting on how loaded bama's backfield is and will be for the next few years. It is sorta like the LB position was two years ago when Calloway signed. It is going to take a really elite talent (TJ Yeldon or T-rich type) to crack the rotation and I do not see that for any RB in this year's class.
Errrybody wants to run behind what has been the best O-line in the country recently, but there is only one pigskin to go around.

Trent did. Some guys just want that NSD announcement experience.

This. My guess is he just wants his face on the news like everyone else. He's going to end up at Bama. 99.9% positive.

Disagree. This time last year, you could've easily said the exact same thing. Lacy will start, Fowler will be the back-up, Hart 3rd down/situational, Calloway mop-up, and Yeldon and Drake redshirt.
Like I said before, if any of the incoming RBs have Yeldon-type talent (and all are very highly rated), then he will get PT and could very well be the #2 RB behind Yeldon. We wouldn't be bringing in 4 RBs if we didn't think there were a need at the position in '13.

Situation is not unlike when AU had Ronnie and Carnel and signed Brandon Jacobs, another 5 star back who sat the bench for a couple of years then decided to transfer. I would expect 1 or 2 of the backs bama signs this year will eventually do the same.
And honestly, as tight as bama's numbers are this year I would not mind using the scholly for a position of greater need than RB.

None of them do. You KNEW coming out of HS Yeldon and T-rich were on a different level. You knew it with Carnell Williams when he signed with AU. You usually know a truly elite back when they are coming out of HS.
None of the backs this year is that type of back. Next year you have 2 backs coming out that are likely better than any in this year's class and bama already leads big for 1 and is in the running for the other.
Wait and see.

sounds like TiM really wishes some of Bama's RB 'croots would go to Auburn.

Bringing in 4 this year to back up Yeldon and Drake may have a bigger impact on Scarborough next year than anything else.
