Y'all got him? If so, great pull. Hopefully we can change his mind later on in the process like we did with Chase and Emery.

A guy that covers recruiting for Rivals in LSU and Texas recently forecasted him to UGA. Things are sounding good right now. Will feel better if his recruitment doesn't go into the season, but that guy seems to think we have a pretty big lead.

Maybe that should go into your op instead of a blind link with a shitty thread title.

Seems like we may have Raym higher on the board? I'd be thrilled to land him but my guess is we take Raym if he'll pick us and call it a day...

ETA: of course one of the insiders thinks we might take 6 if the Stars align so guessing that is specifically referencing that SVP has a spot if he wants it regardless of Raym?

We can't lose this one unfortunately. For a state that already doesn't produce much O-Line talent, losing someone like him will hurt. From what I read on the LSU Board, it doesn't seem like he is showing much interest in us right now which sucks. Like my fellow LSU poster said, hopefully we can change his mind during the season. Emery and Chase are great examples of how things can change.

Edit: I find it interesting there are no crystal ball picks for him.

If that happens I hope we can change his mind again like we did with Adam Anderson.

Only one small difference, though...

I can only speak for the UGA guys that cover this. But they said when Emery committed that UGA would be fighting off LSU until the end. The guy who predicted SVP to Georgia is not a Georgia Rivals guy, but the Rivals guy for Texas and LA. The UGA guys haven't predicted SVP to UGA yet, but from what I can read, feel pretty good about our chances.

As far as Raym, have heard from some on the inside we may be taking 6 OL. Surprising as the numbers are already tight and we just gave a scholly to a kicker.

I think this can be said about almost any Louisiana recruit that LSU has made a priority.

In the case of SVP, however, it's a little unclear to me how much of a priority he really is. He might be the rare recruit who just has zero interest in staying in the state and the staff knows it, so they're not making him a high priority.

Have a hard time believing he wouldn’t be a high priority for y’all which makes him a very difficult get for anyone else.

Not me saying it. We did not have the family with Emery, Just Emery and maybe one or two more. Something happened there that changed things. Not sure what, but was told the coaches didn't really put up much of a fight after that and moved on.

According to the guy who forecasted, we do have the family in on this one. We'll see. There is the possibility we'll take someone else if they choose to commit first. In it for a couple of other Rivals 250 Olinemen.

Every time I read 'SVP', it comes out 'Scott Van Pelt' in my head.

Same... I literally have to double check myself if I type it in regards to this kid. "Are those really his initials?"
