Competing against a known talent vs an unknown.

I absolutely understand why he transfered to a different school. That makes a bunch of sense. The idea that he didn't choose LSU because of Howard doesn't. Cause we have weigman. Who's regarded just as high. And we are about to have an upper tier 4* start for us with 4 years of eligibility. It's not like he is just skipping into a wide open situation

Weigman is just some stars on an online page to him. He saw Walker Howard first hand and was going to go to same school as him. You have to understand a major difference there literally being behind someone vs. someone you have no idea about really.

TJ Finley got behind 2 guys here in Brennan and Johnson. Yet he's transferring to a new school with a 2 year entrenched starter who was a former 5-star himself. You always can see things differently away from you vs. what you see every day near you.

Holstein's let our staff know a while ago he wasn't looking into coming here because of Howard. They simply were trying to avoid the same exact situation they had at STM they saw at LSU. It doesnt mean anything as a shot to Weigman, but they knew he would be behind Howard at STM, thus he transferred high schools last second (or moved high schools before his freshman year), despite his brother being starting QB at STM. This was a first hand situation they dealt with, they never have probably even talked much with Weigman by comparison. Again, not a shot at Weigman, people just perceive things they dont "feel" much about differently than they dealt with first hand.

When Walker committed here it wasn't long after Eli and family showed no interest any more, despite previous staff being one of his first offers. In fact I believe our previous staff and Kentucky were the only P5 schools to offer Eli before his sophomore year, or even before 2021.

Not sure what's funny, that's exactly what happened. Not sure why you cant see that as a possibility. Eli hasnt even been around our campus the last year, even when things opened up. People in the know have said it for a while now that Eli told our staff they were looking OOS only.

The idea that he was so traumatized by being Howard as a freshman in HS that he specifically doesn't want to do so again in college is absolutely ridiculous and absurd

Are you intentionally being this obtuse?

He couldn't be Walker Howard out in high school, and he isn't going to risk not being able to doing it in College.

There is a difference between seeing a name and some stats on paper vs losing a job in person. It's been clearly explained.

You cant be this naive to think a guy who transferred away from sitting behind a guy would possibly not want to put himself in the same situation just at the next level up. Again, first hand experience here, they are just trying to avoid the same situation they got in previously.

They put Eli in the best situation to get noticed earlier on in high school by moving to Zachary from STM, and it obviously worked out well for them. Not hard to understand why they still be avoiding the original situation just at the next level.

"Might" is different than, actually happened. Again, Weigman is a guy with some stars on paper to them, they saw Walker first hand blow up and figured Eli wouldnt play for 3 years at STM, hence they moved him. It's not hard to understand why their college choice would be the one where they wouldnt put him in literally the exact same situation.

The reason Eli wasn't interested in coming to LSU is solely due to the fact Walker chose here. When that happened, they said to our staff they were looking out of state to avoid that same situation once again.

This fricking guy wouldn't beat out walker Howard. He wouldn't in high school and wouldn't in college either.

Apparently he is. Howard kid has dictated his HS and now college careers . He is a good one , just not as talented as Howard.

Sure are a lot of Lsu fans making excuses why we landed the top QB in your state for 2023. Glad to have him in maroon and white.

You can believe what you want facts are facts. Eli is a elite talent a huge get for the Aggies but lsu has known for a while he wasn’t coming. Had Clemson offered at camp he would have commited there then. Nobody is knocking Eli’s talent we are just making a simple statement

I am not pimping this out as some victory over LSU

I am merely pointing out how ridiculous the notion is that he outright rejected LSU for the singular reason that he just can't possibly deal with playing Howard. That is all
