By not a lot do you mean 5 of them? There's almost zero NFL RBs who run a 4.3

Jamaal Charles ran a 4.38
Chris Johnson ran a very low 40.

A lot of RBs ran a sub 4.4 40

I like Evans. Strong, change of speeds and vision.

Texas needs to get their OLine straight.

This is why Evans told them no.
Even Evans wouldn't put up huge numbers running for Texas.

Texas OL is crap, so Monty Hill got that right at least. Evans is a MAJOR talent, and he is leaving the state. I have to wonder if it might not be a grades thing?

These high school players pretty much sign with agents.
The agents for the most part decide where the player should go.
Pretty much similar to basketball.

No. He straight up called you pretenders and a second tier program. That’s why he said no.

Bruh Speedy Noil was at your university. Kid could barely read.

Academics aren’t an issue and if it were both Texas schools would find a way around it.

I guess the Texas schools don’t have the money that they claim then. Pussys need to step their game up.

Players who think that their NFL careers are determined by the school they choose is the reason why Texas is a second rate program right now.

Makes players lazy and entitled if not handled correctly.
From what I have seen very few coaches can. I think it is finally catching up with Alabama.

Just look at Texas, USC and Florida State.

Would much rather have players who are hungry and earn their hype after college than before college so Texas isn't considered a second rate program.

re: 2020 5* RB Zachary Evans top 5
It is not 1985 anymore.

Where a player goes to school isn't decided by who gives him the best things.

For some 5 star recruits it is decided by what school provides the best return on the investment.
People invest in these high school kids to control their future NFL earnings.

Just look at IMG Academy. They are probably the most obvious ones.

Like I said it is just like college basketball.

Those are the exceptions.

Could you please list all of the starting running backs last year who ran a sub 4.4 at the NFL combine?

Thanks in advance.

His comments sound kind of dumb. Said he wants to go to a school competing for titles then said Texas beat UGA (and OU btw last year) but what about Bama or Clemson. What does that even mean quote:“It’s just … you don’t know how to put it,” Evans told 247Sports as a part of a wide-ranging interview. “I don’t want to be disrespectful. I ain’t saying (Texas) can’t win a natty. It’s just at the moment [Texas is] not quite there. You beat Georgia but you barely beat Georgia. What about when it comes to a Bama or go to a Clemson? WHAT? LINK

Brutal quote for Texas. I don't think he says that if Texas has much of a chance to get back in the recruitment. I'm guessing he and George are done to Bama, and it's just a matter of time.

North Shore kids are steered to LSU and have been for a while. I dont know TX history with that school but their coaches have kept A&M from signing anyone from there for the last 20 yrs. I would expect Bama or UGA to be finalists based off their style of play.

Last 10 years, 247 Texas top 50 prospects

2017- #3 Chaisson, LSU
2016- #3 Eric Monroe, LSU
2014- #14 Zack Whitley, UCLA
2011- #4 Cedrick Flowers, Texas
2010- #8 Trey Hopkins, Texas
2010- #16 DeAndrew White, Alabama
2009- #19 Barrett Matthews, Texas

LSU has a grad assistant or QC/QA coach who's a North Shore grad I believe, has Monroe and Chaisson on the roster, and North Shore has I believe two LSU grads or fans as coaches

I think these two are Bama bound though

seems like its bama right now but who knows. for a while in the fall it looked liked A&M, then in the spring it looked like UT

The OL should be solid this year. How does the grades thing make sense? Everyone has the same clearinghouse guidelines

Can everyone please disregard everything this Monty Hill guy posts, plz?

A&M is the one with a chance..
Read between the lines.

I don't think Texas can play with Alabama or go to Clemson and win.
