Texas already has a QB committed.
Then they have Jackson and Henderson.
Dunn is a Texas Legacy as well.

The two defensive players from the 2020 class that Texas is high on are Chris Thompson and Vernon Broughton.

#1 S and #1 DL.
Texas #1 CB is Kelee Ringo.
There is no question if Ringo can play CB at 6'2.
The fluidity is there.

Nothing against Jones. He is a great player and if he can play CB he becomes an elite recruit.

Can you tell me what the huge loss this week was?

That a player didn't make it to JR day even though NSD is a year away and the player has been on campus several times.

That is what I was wondering; just because Evans didn't show up?

Getting a 4* secondary guy is a 4* secondary guy. Even if he wasn't #1 on your board, you take him. 2 guys play corner and 2 play safety at least. Need to take secondary guys all the time, whether he ends up at CB or S or even beefs up and plays LB

When was Evans on campus recently?
He has blown A&M off a few times.
Most recently the LSU game and now this.

Just stop. Evans is not going to A&M or Texas. He's already said he's going to the best OL and that sure in hell ain't Texas.

Recruits say a lot of things.
He also says he wants to run behind men and not boys.
Meaning schools who start freshman on the OL.

As of right now he is going to Texas or LSU.
Been that way the last five months and not anything has changed.

The one school who could make it a three way race is Oklahoma.

I wouldn't count out UGA or Bama or even tOSU if he wants to play behind real men.

Location matters.
If this was a recruit from Georgia or Florida that would be true.
Bama nor UGA want to be caught with their pants down in Houston.
Especially for someone like Zach Evans.
A legit 5 star recruit is not the same as just another recruit.

A lot of schools have 5 star bust at RB.
Neither Gray nor Brown are in the class of Evans.
Gray was injured. No one was really able to see if Gray had it or not.

At RB Texas and A&M do not compare.
When was the last 2000 yard rusher for A&M
Last Doak Walker Award Winner

Jimbo turned Williams from good to All American. He also coached Cook to a 3 year career of 4500 yards & 46 TDs.

What’s Herman ever with a RB?
Best RB each year
18: Watson 786, 4.2 ypc
17: Young 373 (lol), 4.6
16: Catalon 528, 3.6 (lol)
15: Farrow 958, 5.2

0 1000 yard backs. Why would an elite back want to play in his offense?

Drayton and Texas' history with RBs is enough.
If you add Herb Hand and his history with OL you have enough to sell.

Texas had no OL for either one of them & the passing gm was avg at best.

JG had a torn Achilles. One could argue they were high 4 stars, but who knows based on the above.

A&M has zero shot w/ Evans. Texas is in a good spot for him, but LSU & others are just as likely. This kid knows what he's doing (OL comments), our OL won't be helping our pitch.

Jones kid is very good. Pretty high up on the TX board for a while. He's good enough that if CB doesnt end up fitting no one will care.. he'll just be better at the other position.

Would you rather have Jones or Ringo.

Texas is going to sign a smaller class in 2020. Around 23
More than half of that will be OL(5), DL(4), LB(2)

12 players
Card
2 RBs
2 WRs
2-3 ATH types like Jackson, Ty Jordan, Micheal Henderson

That leaves 4-5 DBs
Thompson
Snow
Washington
Ringo
1 more CB

Kelvontay Dixon might not get a LOI.

Ringo, but that's no slant on Jones, no pun intended.

Jones is a good player but CP3 from Southern California is very Texas friendly.
He looks legit and probably will be CB#2.
I doubt Texas gets into the Fred Davis mix.
But Kelee Ringo and Clark Phillips III will be worth missing on Jones.
Even one of them.

Not trying to hijack this topic...
But Jimbo is doing a great job at getting these recruits to commit.
Like I have said. Herman would rather wait.

But....
If Texas wins big this year. There is a chance they can cherry pick at the end.
As long as Texas gets who they want I am fine.

aggy can thump their chest all they want but they removed UT's Plan C or D off the board.

Dunno, Jones would've ended up a 5* if he committed with Texas, I heard Burton really likes him.
