I think everyone is on the same page when it comes to Sopsher's ranking and work ethic.

His potential is what is driving the interest. He could be a monster if he gets his stuff together.

Giving Ishmael's brother Rodney a scholarship may help LSU get Ishmael but it probably won't influence where future Amite and in-state players choose to go to college. However, it may give some other future prospects who are coveted by Coach O the idea that they can also demand and get "package deals" from him. How well Coach O's package deal strategy ultimately works out for him remains to be seen.

Amite (and immediate surrounding area like Kentwood) isn't producing any noteworthy players after this cycle as it stands right now. This year was just kind of an anomaly. It's a very small town. There's a mid 3-star kid for 2020 (Daran Branch) but he doesnt have offers from LSU or Bama right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sam Pettito was off of Bama's staff soon or next year, no real reason to keep him around. Saban got him to get these top guys like Sopsher and Smith. Lee also at one point but Bama's ship sailed on him a while ago due to room.
