Vote up for pods. Down for permanent Opponents

Balance & Variety

Peter Burns' 9-game schedule pods (4-2-2 model) are the most balance... Since the SEC Network published this model, it's probably the leader.

West Pod
Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma

Southwest Pod
LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M

Southeast Pod
Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

East Pod
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina

Keeping Tradition Alive

Permanent opponent model is a little confusing, but maintains traditional games, or games that should be great TV.

Arkansas: Texas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Missouri: Oklahoma, South Carolina, Vanderbilt
Texas: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M
Oklahoma: Texas, Missouri, Alabama

LSU: Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Mississippi State: Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Ole Miss: Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State
Texas A&M: LSU, Texas, Mississippi State

Alabama: Auburn, Oklahoma, Tennessee
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State
Tennessee: Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt: Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee

Florida: Georgia, Kentucky, LSU
Georgia: Auburn, Florida, South Carolina
Kentucky: South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
South Carolina: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri

Some of the key match-ups maintained annually:
Alabama vs. Auburn
Alabama vs. Tennessee
Arkansas vs. Texas
Auburn vs. Georgia
Florida vs. Georgia
Florida vs. LSU
Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss
Oklahoma vs. Texas
Texas vs. Texas A&M

Missing is the LSU vs. Alabama. But replaced with Alabama vs. Oklahoma.

I personally like the idea of pods if it can maintain the rivalries across the board.

For LSU, Week 12 could be anyone that the schedule presents.

Pods. Pods allow us to play everyone in rapid fashion AND keep the schedules balanced in terms of difficulty.

I don’t know who they’re playing but the Egg Bowl, due to popular demand, is going to start
being played again on Thanksgiving night beginning 2022 !

Not surprising that a corndog would scratch having to play Bama every year. Nice try.

Not bad, but pods are still lame. Just keep divisions and do 7 + 2 rotating.

So are we, or are we not a rival? What is your recommendation for scheduling. I liked the pods the SEC network put out with the scheduling being you play everyone in your pod, 1/2 of each other pod but only 1 of the top two of each pod every year.

This makes it to where you have great games every year and don’t have some off years.

Bama is clearly LSU's biggest rival.

Not historically they aren’t. That’s Ole miss. Since permanent cross over its been UF. Since the addition of aTm they have been huge too.

So is LSU’s permanent opponents UF, aTm, and Bama?

It means we’d never have a shitty schedule that’s for sure.

Well going by that list LSU’s should have Ole miss and MSU as two of our 3 permanent opponents.

I like this and for Bama's crossover, I like Miss. State. OU can play Tex. A&M for crossover.

I like the idea of pods for scheduling and having no divisions like in basketball. Top two teams play for the SEC Championship. Tie breakers could be tricky and controversial though.

I want bama, dwags, gators and tenner for Auburn. Whatever system makes that happen is fine with me. Don't care what that screws over for the rest of you turds.
