Things are still very early looking into next season, as teams will add their last few high school kids to their class over the coming months, and transfers galore, but what does it look like right now for you heading into next season?

I'll take the conservative approach to LSU's lineup:

Starters
C: (6'11, 230) SR. Kavell Bigby-Williams (20-25 min/gm)
PF: (6'9, 250) FR. Nazreon Reid (25-30 min/gm)
SF/G: (6'5, 184) SR. Brandon Sampson (15-20 min/gm)
SG/CG: (6'4, 200) JR. Skylar Mays (25-30 min/gm)
PG: (5'11, 167) SO. Tremont Waters (25-30 min/gm)

Bench
PF (6'6, 217) JR. Wayde Sims (5-10 min/gm)
PF (6'7, 215) FR. Emmitt Williams (20-25 min/gm)
PF (6'7, 220) FR. Darius Days (10-15 min/gm)
SF (6'5, 215) SO. Brandon Rachal (10-15 min/gm)
SG (6'3, 165) SR. Daryl Edwards (15-20 min/gm)
PG/CG (6'4, 185) FR. Ja'Vonte Smart (25-30 min/gm)

Open Spots
2 open spots, looking for a JUCO and/or transfer (sit out or grad)

I have a hard time believing Waters plays fewer than 30 minutes per game, but I guess it’s possible. I’m sure that roster will narrow the deeper into the season y’all go as well.

No idea what ours looks like right now, but it’s not great

ETA: well i have some idea, just not a great one.

It's not an indictment on him, but Wade wants to keep 2 PGs on the floor at all times, this year we had 2 PGs in Mays and Waters, next year we will have 3 in Mays, Waters AND Smart. So basically this past season at times we had only 1 PG on the floor having to rest eithe rMays or waters at times. Next season he will get to have 2 PGs out there at all times like he wants. Smart is basically right on the cusp of being a 5-star, has absolutely tore stuff up the last half of his senior season en route to a state title. So basically we will heavily rotate Mays/Smart/Waters at the 1 and 2 spot, with each seeing roughly equal time probably.

Waters averaged 33 minutes and Mays 31 minutes this season, but now you have to throw a much better player than Onwuasor (who averaged just 15-16 minutes) into the guard rotation when you have Smart in his place.

Still a lot of decisions to be made but right now I'll go

Green
Quickley
Johnson
Vanderbilt
Washington

Have a feeling we may get Hagans and/or Montgomery which will shake things up a bit.

If Mays doesn't learn how to make a layup, Ja'Vonte Smart will put him on the pine.

If you think Emmitt Williams is not starting...you have a screw loose.

He's not starting in front of Naz, but will play a lot, hence I put 20-25 minutes next to his name

Williams will definitely play, but Wade loves Sampson.

He will start with Naz..who cares about the title of PF or C or SF. Both those cats are starting

Bigby-Williams is absolutely our starter at C, he's the only true center on the entire team and is an absolute defensive beast which is why Wade will start him there. He's the best rim protector and rebounder we'll have.

Wade would tell you today Bigby-Williams is a starter. Some folks get way too caught up in this though, it's more about minutes played than "starting" or not. Smart or Mays wont start but will play more minutes than some starters. Same goes potentially for Williams.

Naz is more of a SF/PF than C, but he will probably relieve Bigby-Williams at the 5 so Williams and Days can play some 4.

If everything goes right, we have:

PG - ramey
2G- Giest
sf - Santos
F - Jontay Porter
F - Tilmon

This is a good 5 right here.

If Ramey doesnt come and Jontay leaves

PG - Giest
SG - Watson
SF - Santos
F - Smith
F - Tilmon

Im worried.

Mizzou is also most likely going to get GT.

True center? None of that garbage means anything. How many true anything’s does Auburn or Villanova or countless other teams play? Hell...LSU plays 2 PGs on the court most of the time.

We will see though. They are all talented. Just don’t get caught up into pigeonholing players into certain positions

I have not seen any of those guys play but putting 3 interior guys on the floor together is a sure fire way to get run out of the gym unless 2 of them can shoot and put the ball on the floor as well. The days of big men dominating basketball is over. It's all about having the ability to spread the court drive and dish to an open 3 pt shooter. Like I said I know next to nothing about those recruits listed but if they can't do that then they won't play together.

If we get everybody back

C-Wiley
PF-Okeke
SF-Purifoy
SG-Brown
PG-Harper

I said our 2 superstar 5-stars would start...who is the 3rd guy you’re talking about?

Minutes will vary greatly by opponent. For some teams we play Wade will go small, some big, some base. Waters, Smart, and Naz will get good minutes every game though I think.
